She nodded, but I don't think it meant as much as I hoped because she scampered into her room immediately after. I frowned. "What can I do to make it up to her?"

William tilted his head at me. "I don't know if you can. In the meantime, just be nice to her. Keep your friends off of her back and don't cause her any more pain. Just be a human to her. She needs that right now." I nodded, looking at the door of her room and wondering what a girl like Olivia, what a girl with Olivia's life, would keep in her room. "There's nothing in there. A bed, a dresser, some clothes, nothing else. She doesn't even have a mirror in her bathroom. I think she likes it that way. She fights with me whenever I try to help her decorate."

Toby and Jake walked in. "Come on Blake, we're heading home. Your parents wanted us to come get you." I was pulled off of the floor, out of the house, and into the awaiting limo. My parents never did like to go anywhere without some flare.

I waited until the next day to see her again, not like I had much choice. I didn't have her number and it's not like I would show up at her house again to ask for it. I sighed, my exhaustion clearly seeping through. Finally, I just decided to sleep the night off.

I walked into school the next day, only to be greeted by the sounds of shouting. "Come on, can't take any more?" Chris, an idiot who thought we were friends because we were both on the football team, was leering down at a girl on the floor, her books scattered around her. A notebook quickly caught my eye. It was orange and torn up like it had been used for years on end. It's edges were long gone and it's color was fading rapidly. There were a few doodles on it and scribbles in other languages. It was a notebook I had known for years. I looked down at Olivia as she avoided eye contact with Chris at all costs.

"Chris, what are you doing? Leave the girl alone." I glared at him. Sure, he was bigger than me and could probably beat me in a fight, but I was banking on the hope that it wouldn't get that far.

He laughed. "Whatever Blake, we're just having some fun. Isn't that right?" He stepped closer to Olivia and I moved so I was between them, looking at Chris in a silent challenge.

My chest felt warm for a moment before it felt like it was burning. My hand quickly grasped at it but came up with nothing but air. I panted heavily, closing my eyes and wishing it would stop but knowing that it wouldn't. I looked down.

My chest glowed with an odd coral color. Brightly, vibrantly, blindingly. The gasps of people around me were enough to throw me off of my game, but it was all over when Olivia yelped. I swiveled around to see if she was alright only to be greeted by light the same color as mine. She too was pushing her hand against her chest, trying desperately to make it stop.

I looked down at her. "What the hell?" I whispered.

She looked up at me with her wide eyes as she always did, noticing the light on my chest for the first time. "No. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. This can't be happening. It can't be you of all people. It must be a mistake. There's no way-"

"Hey, Olivia?" She froze at the sound of my voice, eyes flicking over me again as if to make sure it was really me. "Are you my soulmate?" She nodded slowly. "What can we do to make it stop hurting?"

"You have to kiss." Some kid yelled from the crowd that had gathered. I turned. It was Tyler, one of the kids that were known to have found his soulmate and was very happy with him.

I turned to Olivia. She stood on shaky legs and moved from her spot. She stopped in front of me and put her hands on my face. "I am not happy about this." She pressed her lips to mine harshly.

My chest exploded into every color imaginable. The kiss was mind-blowing. I was finally complete. I had finally found the girl of my dreams. My darling, my love, my soulmate. I grabbed her hips and pulled her into me. She pulled back slowly.

"Okay, so maybe I'm a little bit happy about it." She looked at me with new eyes.

It was my turn for wide, shock-filled eyes. "You're an excellent kisser. I didn't notice before, but..." I whistled lowely, and she blushed. "What do we do now?"

"I don't know. Believe it or not, I've never had the once in a lifetime experience of finding my soulmate and having my heartburn a hole through my chest."

"Oh, so you have an attitude now?" I smiled at her, and she hit my chest.

"Screw off, Blake." She buried her head in my chest, and I felt her smile as she clenched my shirt.

Mr. Finnigan walked over to us. "No class for people who have just found their soulmates, they can never concentrate. Go home; you have an excused absence today."

I quickly picked her up, ignoring her squeal and ran out of the school with her after grabbing her things. I set her gently in my car and got into the driver's side. She put on her seatbelt, and I turned on the radio.

"Are you okay with coming to my house? I really want to be with you." I babbled, staring at her.

She nodded. "Yeah... Jonathan's going to be at mine so let's go."
