After waiting a bit, breakfast is ready and everyone heads to the mess hall to eat. There's no seating specifically, so Sujin and I decide to sit together, watching all the girls flock to The Boyz like moths. We eat, happily talking, and soon one of the teachers shows up with an announcement. He tells us that each day different types of games and events will happen during the day, and that they're each different. He then says that today's events are an art competition. He explains that we're supposed to create an art piece using the nature around us. Hearing this makes me really excited. He says there's prizes for the top three art pieces voted by the teachers who will act as judges.

After hearing this, Sujin smacks my back. "Hyerin, you've got this!" She says. I laugh with her and we finish eating. We thank the cook and head outside, and I'm so eager to start the art competition, I practically sprint out of the mess hall. I begin to look around to find things I can use. I find sticks, rocks, flowers and plants, berries, and small things like that. Once I'm satisfied I head to a picnic table alone, where I try to think of what I can make. My top choices were a sculpture or a portrait. I'm thinking when someone sits in front of me. I look up and see it's Kevin. He smiles at me. He looks at my items and asks me, "Do you have an idea on what you're doing yet?" I look back at my stuff and then at him. I nod, "I have two ideas." I say. We then stare at each other for a bit. "Oh! I can't tell you why they are!" I say. He laughs a bit and asks me why I can't. "Duh, you're my biggest competition today." I tell him. He sits back looking proud that I called him my biggest competition, but it didn't last long when I asked him to leave so I could build my art in secrecy and peace. He got up and raised his arms, backing away while laughing. After he was gone, I narrowed my idea down and started creating.

It's the evening and we just submitted our art pieces, and are being evaluated by the teachers. Third place is announced and a male student won a small toy prize. "In second place, with a facial portrait, Hyerin!" The teacher announced. Both happy and disappointed, I receive my prize, which is a water bottle I can reuse. "And that means, in first place, Kevin!" He says, the students applaud and Kevin receives his prizes of a water bottle the same as mine, a sports bag with paintbrushes and a small ring. He thanks the teachers and we're given free time. Sujin and I leave the mess hall and go sit on the dock of the lake, with our feet in the water. We're chatting when someone approaches us. We look back and it's Kevin. He says hi to us, and asks Sujin if he can talk to me for a second. She leaves but not after eying me suspiciously, and he takes her seat next to me. "Good job earlier, I never would've thought of creating a portrait." He says. I smile a bit and thank him. "Congratulations on first place!" I tell him. he nods and lifts up his bottle to which I do the same and we laugh. "I just wanted to say congrats." He says. I nod, and he gets up to leave. "See you." He says as he walks away. I look back at the lake and my eye catches something next to me. I grab it, and it's the ring Kevin won. I turn back to call out to him, but he's already gone. For the meantime I place it in my pocket.
