My alarm goes off, and I jolt awake, realizing that after I got home I didn't get changed, eat, or do any of my homework. I groan in frustration as I quickly get myself ready for school. I check my phone for any messages and see one from Sujin.
I subconsciously sigh at the fact I'll be alone today, but I head to school hoping the day will be less frantic than yesterday. I jinxed myself. The very first thing I see when I get to school, is The Boyz. I run past hoping that none of them will notice me, and instead, I trip on a raised step and fall flat on my face. I sit up, and I wince as I touch the scrape on my arm. I notice a hand in front of my face, and I grab it, as I'm helped up by a fellow student. I look up to see it's Chanhee, and I look back to see the rest of the boys looking at me. Embarrassed, I go to pull my hand away from him, but he stops me immediately. "Don't. You need to get it cleaned and bandaged. Come with me." My refusal is blatantly ignored as he drags me to the infirmary.
He sits me in a chair and gets some stuff to clean the scrape as well as a bandage. "I'm okay really, you don't need to help me." I tell him. "Nonsense, you're bleeding, I'd be a bad person if I left it untreated seeing as I watched you fall." I go to say something, but I look down at the floor instead. He grabs my arm and lifts it up so he can treat my scrape. "It'll sting." He says. Something about his voice is soothing, but I can't help but wince as he dabs a wet cotton ball on my scrape. He notices my action, and lightly blows on my arm to help the pain. He then applies the bandage on my arm. I go to thank him when he cuts me off. "You didn't do your homework again did you?" He asks. I shake my head, thinking back on my falling asleep yesterday. He exhales, and meets my eyes. "I'll help you, so meet me at lunch in one of the math classrooms." I wasn't expecting that from him seeing as we're not close, but I couldn't help but be thankful. "Thank you." I tell him. For both my arm and his help.
Like usual I was ringed out by my math teacher, but lunch came quick enough and I met Chanhee in one of the math classrooms. "You actually showed up." He says. I awkwardly stand in the doorway, not used to his presence or the fact that he's helping me. "Sit." He tells me. I nod, and head over to a desk at the back of the room. He looks at me puzzled. "When I meant sit, I meant with me, not at the back of the class." He says. I quickly get up and bump my knee in the process, sighing at the fact. I sit in front of him, and he stares at me for a few seconds before getting out his textbook. I get mine out as well, and he begins by talking me through the last two lessons, and I actually understood it! He gave me practice questions to work on, and then I completed my homework from 2 days prior and even did today's homework. When I finished I stretched and sighed out of relief. "I'm done!" I say. He gives a small chuckle. "Good job." He says, as he ruffles my hair. I tense up immediately and look at the floor. I sense him getting up and I watch him head toward the door. "Thank you!" I yell out. He pauses for a moment and keeps walking. I'm really thankful he helped me, even if I don't know why.
