From the moment the elevator soors opened, I ran. I resisted the urge to look back. The noises I heard, the bones cracking, heads snapping, screams and roars, it was horeible. But the worst part? Hoping Daniel would follow me. I arrived at the first door. All it needed was a key. I looked for it but it wasn't there. Suddenly, there was a tap on my shoulder, I turned around, ready to defend myself but it was Daniel. Daniel, who didn't even have a bruise, had the key. I took it and placed it in the keyhole. I looked at Daniel again. He nodded. I turned the key and opened the door. There were three vampires sitting at a table. They seemed chocked to see us. They quickly got over it and came at us. Daniel pushed me aside and began to fight them. I ran to te second door. This one required two keys. How wonderful. I turned around and saw Daniel was having difficulties killing the last vampire standing. Now, Daniel had some cuts on his face. I looked at the ashes of the two dead vampires and saw a key in one of them. As fast as I could, I snatched it away. The second key was around the neck of the still fighting vampire. Daniel pushed the vampire face first against the wall.

"Grab the key, Zoe!" He yelled. I ran up to him and pulled the key from the vampires neck. What I didn't realise was how strong the cord was that held the key or how much force I used because the next thing I knew was that the vampires face became expressionless and his head fell onto the floor. Almost immediatly, he turned to ashes. I couldn't believe I had just killed a man. I mean, he was an undead and a monster, but still. I had taken a life. Daniel grabbed me by the shoulders.

"Zoe, we have to keep moving before they can send backup. Are you okay?" His face stood worried. Slowly, I nodded. He grabbed my hand and pulled me to the door. We insirted the keys and after opening the door, we were faced against five vampires. These vampires didn't hesitate to attack us. Daniel protected me by standing infront of me and again, I was infront of a door. This one needed a three digits code to open. I didn't know what it could be.

"Zoe! The code, it's..." Daniel looked at the neck of one of the vampires. "7..." He broke the vampires neck. "4..." He stabbed the vampire he was holding with the knife of the previously killed vampire. "8..." And he decapitated the last vampire. I didn't let what I just saw get to me and typed in the numbers. The door opened and it all began again. But this time, we needed an imprint of a hand. How would we ever get that? I saw Daniel was having trouble fighting these vampires of and I before I knew it, I leaped forward and took hold of one of the vampires. In one movement, I snapped hos head. Now, Daniel had one vampire to deal with while I tried to kill the other.

"You are a pretty one, aren't ya?" His voice was like slime.

"I'll love to beat some sense into that pretty little head of yours." He tilted his head and looked at me with a curious expression. It scared the sh*t out of me.

"Stop talking and die!" and with that, I jumped at him and knocked him to the ground. There was a knife next to me. In less than a second the knife was in his chest, where his heart should be. I saw the grin on his face turn to ash. I got of what remained of the vampire and turned to look at Daniel who looked at me like he saw a ghost.

"How did you do that?"

"I don't know," I answered. "I just knew what to do." He nodded slowly, still looking at me like I grew another ear. That's when I saw there was another vampire. He was unconscious. I moved fast to have a clean kill but Daniel stopped me.

"We need his hand, Zoe." I dragged his body to the door and Daniel lifted his hand up to unlock the door. What we saw behind it was shocking. There was only one vampire. But it was monstruous. It looked like it was made out of three vampires and someone threw a zombie in there too. I knew Daniel could never do this alone. But we needed this vampires eye. How would we ever knock him out, drag him to the door, lift him up and open the door? Daniel would know. The monster snarled at us, a vicious sound and attacked. Daniel did something I had never seen before: he stood his ground. The moment the vampire would grab him, Daniel jumped on top of it and placed a small blad in between his shoulder plates. The monster fell to the geound and didn't get up. The only way I knew it was still alive was because it kept snarling and growlung at us.

"Watch out when we lift him, he still has control from the neck up." Daniel said. He looked tired and sweaty, but he was alive. Together, we dragged the beast to the door and just when I was about to lift him, Daniel said: "Behind this door is a stable with horses. We will take two and run. Don't stop, whatever happens. Do you understand?"

"Daniel, I..."

"Do you understand?!" Daniel said, louder.

"Yes."

We lifted the vampire and put his eye to the scanner. While the door opened, Daniel killed the vampire. Daniel was right. There was a stable. It looked so warm, nothing like what you would expect with vampires. Without saying a word, Daniel helped me get up on a brown horse and he got up on a black one. With a nod from Daniel, I got my horse to run. When we left the stables, all I saw was green. It was so sereen, almost angelic.

"It's day. No vampires are out today. I didn't know if it would be night or day. But still, we have to move as fast as we can. I know where we have to go. Follow me." With that, Daniel took of. My horse followed him.

After a while, we arrived in a small town. We sold the horses for food and a truck. Daniel was driving. He insisted that I got some sleep. After what seemed luke days, we got to the big city. I saw a sign that I knew said the name of the city, but the letters were strange. I couldn't read them. After a couple of minutes, we were at a train station. Daniel kept on watching our surroundings, he never let me out of his sight. Soon, we were on a train.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"Back home." Daniel was looking at me intently. I rested my head on his shoulder. He placed his arm around me.

"Our home." He said softly. All the things I had experienced since I met Daniel I would do all over again if that meant I would still end up in his arms. That moment, I never felt more safe in my life. I drifted of asleep, knowing that Daniel would always be there when I woke up.

<so I know this is a shorter chapter but I didn't have that much time. Don't go hating me ;)>
