The sound of my alarm woke me. The honking of cars wasn't the nicest sound to wake up with but just because it was so annoying and loud I set it up anyway. My eyes opened. My room was still dark. Slowly but certainly I started to see my room. It was small and didn't say much about me but I didn't mind. I wouldn't stay here that long anyway. I knew I had to get up but my body was protesting. I shouldn't have worked so late at the bar last night. But a girl has to eat. My face took on an angry grin. If my mother hadn't left me I wouldn't have to work like this. My mother left me a year ago. She didn't say anything. I never saw it coming. One day I came home and almost all of our stuff was gone. She didn't even leave a note. The only thing she left was me. I sighed. 'Stop living in the past', I thought. 'You deserve to have a good future.' I sat up in my bed. I sat like this for a couple more seconds and then I opened the curtains. There were two windows and they were filthy. It hadn't been cleaned here in a long time. I didn't care. At least I had a place to sleep. When I walked over to the small bathroom and looked in the mirror I sighed. What I saw was a girl that used to have stunning green eyes, small pink lips and brown curly hair that made other girls jealous. That girl was gone. Now her eyes were pale and dark circles laid underneath. Het lips were dry and sore. Her hair looked like it hadn't been washed with a good shampoo in ages. And it hadn't. I couldn't afford it. I looked away. I cupped my hands and filled them with water. I wet my face dried it of. Then I brushed my teeth. I pulled a comb through my dry hair and frowned. It really needed some care. 'Tonight', I thought to myself, ' I will buy myself a nice shampoo.' I smiled. I couldn't wait. My hair was kind of important to me. I put on my clothes and grabbed my purse. I checked my wallet: only eleven dollars and seventy cents. I headed downstairs and walked past the old lady who rented me the room. She wasn't friendly at all but she gave me a place to stay. For payment ofcourse. I could feel her staring at me but I knew if I would turn around she would look the other way. Weird woman. When I opened the door the bell from her herbshop rang. Her shop was scary as hell and I wondered if she ever had any customers. I walked down the street and I felt someone looking at me. I heard footsteps. They got closer. I started to walk faster. The bar were I worked wasn't that far. The footsteps got closer. My hands were getting sweaty. I looked over my shoulder and saw a hooded man dissapear around the corner. I could see the bar already. The footsheps were back. My breathing became louder as I walked faster. Finally I arrived at the bar. I took out my key as fast as I could and opened the door. Quickly, I shut it again. I rushed to the window and saw the hooded man walk back. That's when he turned around. I couldn't see his face because his hood covered it in shadows but when he looked at me I froze. I shut the curtains and walked away. I was shaking. Who was he?

An hour later I was done with setting up and my boss came in. He looked at me and I smiled. He kept walking. It was like this every day. Customers started to come in as well. Most of them were over forty and didn't have a family. But on mondays some bussiness men came in. They would always sit at the left of my bar and always drank some bourbon. They never asked for anything else. After an hour or so they left. Some kids would always trie to get in but I was smarter than that. Everything was as usual. I turned around to put away the glasses I just cleaned when someone came in. I felt cold. I turned around and saw the hooded man. He stared at me for a couple of seconds and then went to one on the tables against the wall. I walked over to him and asked:

'Do you want to order something?' Although I tried not to, my voice trembled. He looked up, slowly, and said with a raw voice:

'Just some peanuts.' He looked back down to his gloved hands. I walked back to the bar. That man was just... freaking me out. I grabbed a bowl and put some nuts in it. I walked over to the table the hooded man was sitting at and placed the bowl on his table. I quickly walked away. Not long after that he walked out of the bar. I was relieved.

Later that evening, when all the customers had left, my boss asked me to close up. He left and I started to put out the lights. I walked out the door and closed it with my key. It put the key in my purse and started to walk home. That's when I heard the footsteps again. I started to run. I was breathing so heavily I didn't hear the footsteps anymore. At the corner of the street I stopped. Three men were standing infront of me. I saw their daggers shine in the light of the lantarns. Suddenly, I felt two strong arm around my neck. A voice whisperd in my ear. It was the hooded man. He said:

'Give us the bracelet and we will leave you alone.' I didn't know what he meant. I didn't own any jewelry. Definetly no bracelet. I told him:

'I don't know what you're talking about. What bracelet?'

The man laughed. But it was laugh of horror. 'Then I guess this will be by the hard way deary.' I saw a knife in the corner of my eye and closed my eyes. I awaited the pain but instead of pain the arms holding me were now gone. I opened my eyes and saw the shadow of a man taking down the thieves one by one. I saw the flashing of a sword and suddenly, it was silent. My savier turned around and looked me in the eyes. The last thing I saw were those light blue eyes and then... darkness.

<sooo, what do you think? is her savier a hero or a foe? Leave a comment with your opinion!!!>
