Phoebe's POV

The morning sky that day was clear. No clouds were present in order to mess with the beautiful blue of the sky.

I entered the main entrance of the company owned by Mitchel Cave and his family, as I did every day. I was greeted by the white walls with the huge windows, the cream-colored desks with the high-tech computers, the beautiful decorative plants that gave a more environment-friendly aura to the whole room. That was after you pass the reception room, which had a porcelain counter where the receptionist was standing. She always wore a bright smile, even though I'm sure she didn't want to be in her position. Behind the reception were drawers with golden handles and of course more green plants and a few paintings. Then you entered the technical support room, which is the room I described. When you walk a little further you get to a haul with seven doors, six of them leading to the manager's offices. Of course, the room at the very end of the haul happened to be of the principal of the company, meaning the boss, meaning Mitchel Cave. I have to admit, he has quite a sense of style.

I went into my office and sat down on my all white and very relaxing chair. I logged into my computer and IPad to check the company's currency and orders. I am an assistant to the manager of sales and sometimes I got some whims like PR. My office and the manager's office where only a door away. I also somehow was his receptionist since I had to ask every client if they had an appointment or if they were investors etc.

Today though it was quite different. When I went into the computer room, I saw a furious Mitchel and a furious Mr. Whites as well, talking about something. I could sense that their conversation was a little intense by their body language and the wild looks they were giving at each other. Mr. Whites could be somewhat arrogant and couldn't realize that this wasn't his company but Mitchel's. Mainly because he had another one obligation instead of just the sales, the hiring and retiring job was all his. "For the last time Whites, the money you get is coming from my pocket, so you should better go with the flow of my rules." Said, Mitchel and glanced at me. Somewhat his features softened but I could see that he was still angry.

"Okay, Mr. Cave." Mr. Whites said. After crossing his arms, he twisted his back and left the room.

Mitchel approached me and I could already feel my cheeks heating up. "Be in the meeting office, in ten." He said coldly and left.

Mitchel was always serious during job and couldn't let loose for the least. It's basically one of the reasons he managed to be such a great businessman, besides the young of his age. The guy was barely twenty-eight.

The meeting room was filled with the managers, their assistants and of course the boss. Mitchel sat in the chair on the end of the table and crossed his hands together, placed them on the glass table and rested his chin on them.

"I'm here to inform you about some changes that will be on the main staff of the company. You know just for the right function of it." He talked with his voice coming out confident and sure.

I glanced at Mr. Whites and he had his eyes narrowed and his fists clenched. It might have hurt a little bit since this is his job. That's why they were probably arguing before.

"First of all, I would like to introduce Mr. Weiron our new economic counselor and manager. Don't worry Mr. Flynn, you're still in the company, I just think that Mr. Weiron will come up with new plans that pertain to your field...." Mitchel went on with further changes, recruitments, redundancies and then he added, "last but not least, I would like to introduce to you, Mrs. Bradley. Mrs. Bradley is going to be Mr. Whites' personal assistant."

My jaw was left hanging in the air and I could feel my eyes watering up. Oh, yeah. I forgot to mention that I am Mr. Whites' personal assistant. Was he firing me? "Ms. Martin you'll be my new assistant since the last one resigned."

I could not believe my ears. Mitchel and I working so close. No, it couldn't be happening, someone has to be kidding me.

After everyone got a detail panel about what they have to work on and be explained everything, the meeting was finally over. "Ms. Martin come here," Mitchel said and I obeyed.

The last person in the room, apart from us, took the long way to the exit, leaving us alone. "Phoebe, this is your new IPad, with your schedule and arrangements, you have to inform me about everything. Also, your salary will be slightly increased and maybe you will have some additional whims. Not PR, mathematically related ones." He stated and I admired how much he changes when we are alone. I mean we kinda have shared a lot of intimate moments together.

"I think I can do it, since it is more relatable to what I've been studying," I told him and he smiled at me.

"Great. Every morning you'll have to order coffee for me. It's the strictest rule. Without coffee, I'll be the most obnoxious human being." Mitchel stated.

I chuckled. "Not that you are not already." I joked and he smiled looking at me, this time bigger.

"It's a shield to protect me from pain, baby girl."
