Ichiji's POV:
Plenty of days went by, Ren was quiet the entire time. She spent her days reading books and looking out to sea. The bruise on her face was starting to heal, but it still looked pretty bad. We were having breakfast together again With the family. She was wearing a black dress, that yet again looked like rags. "Ichiji, take Ren shopping today for clothes. We can't have her tarnishing our name dressed like some peasant. While you're at it get her something to do in her free time " Father said
"Yes sir" I replied bowing my head. I glanced at her, her face always down, almost like she was cowering, 'what are you so afraid of, as much as I don't want to admit it, you're as strong as me' I thought. We excused ourselves as breakfast ended "Ren, you head on back and get ready to go, we'll leave as soon as I get back to the room" I said looking at her. She nodded before leaving. I went to Reiju's room, knocking before walking in. "Hey there Ichiji, need something?" She asked as she was flicking through some paperwork. "Ren is being weird, is she broken?" I asked
"Dummy, she's no robot, but she can be upset" she replied looking at me
"Well how do I get her back to normal" I asked crossing my arms as I leant against the wall."What was the last thing that happened, before she changed?" She asked. I recalled the events of me snapping at her, and her punching me, I told her casually about it. "Are you an idiot! Why would you say something like that to her?!" She yelled. I looked at her "I didn't think it'd be that bad" I mumbled rubbing the back of my head
"Obviously she's got some self esteem problem dipshit, of course that would be a sensitive issue for her, you can't just go and drag her through the mud further" she groaned pinching her temples. "When you go shopping with her today, you'd better make her feel like the best person in the world, you got that?" She said looking at me
"But how, I don't know what to say, and she won't speak to me" I sighed
"Haven't you been reading that book, use those tips. Listen, girls are really sensitive to a lot of things, you need to be a bit careful on what you say around her. You're her husband, you're going to spend the rest of your lives together, so you better start getting along" she said
"Alright fine, how do I get her to speak?" I asked again
"She's your wife, you figure it out" she smirked.
"Some help" I grunted before leavingI made it back to the room, thinking about what Reiju said, I sighed slightly. I walked in before closing the door behind me. "Ren, you ready yet, let's go, the ships ready" I said. She walked out, wearing a deep red dress today, also looking like rags. She was wearing some oversized black pumps that would slip off with each step. 'Remember physical touch can be useful, it doesn't need to be sexual. But the idea of having someone beside her could put her mind at ease. Be there for her to lean on in her times of need, and she will definitely be there for yours'. This could be useful, I offered her my arm. She looked down not noticing it. I pulled her to my side, as my arm draped across her shoulders. She looked up at me, blushing slightly. We walked towards the ship, before we set sail. "Do you remember everything you need?" I asked looking at her as we sat in the cabin. She nodded. "Why won't you speak with me, the towns about an hour away, you'll get bored" I said as I rested my head on my hand, watching her. She shook her head, before pulling out a book. I watched her, eyebrows raised. "What about me, I'll get bored" I said pulling my chair next to her. She shrugged slightly, I grabbed the book out of her hands and tossed it to the side.
"I'm finally here, pay some attention to me" I said crossing my arms looking at her. She glanced at me as she fidgeted with her dress. I sighed getting up and about to leave the room when I felt her grab me by the hand. I glanced back as she shook her head. "What? You don't want me to leave?"I asked looking at her. She nodded, I rubbed the back of my head before retrieving the book I had thrown. I sat down next to her. "We might as well read together huh" I said, my eyes falling onto her bruise. My hand reached out to touch it, I frowned "my brothers are idiots" I muttered shaking my head
"Have the maids been taking care of this?" I asked. She nodded, her brown eyes staring into my shades. I feel as if each time she found her way closer and deeper into my eyes. I felt my breathing get shallow as we gazed at eachother. It was a strange feeling, one I have not experienced before. Her brown eyes, seemingly normal contained golden specks, as each time I searched I found more to her. I heard a knock at the door. I snapped my head to the door abruptly before getting up. "What is it?" I called opening the door. "We are here sir" one of the clones said saluting. I nodded looking back at her, her head tilting in confusion, "I lied about the time" I grinned before motioning for her to follow.
