Chapter 4 - A Mission?!

Chapter 4 baby! lol, hope you're enjoying this... book?.... yeahh, well, book so far. I think this will be the most... Interesting chapter so far. I guess we said it a bit too loud because everyone turned and looked at us. Full of embarrassment, I turned towards the front of the class and put my head down.

It's the guy who saved me! What is he doing here? Did he follow me? I thought to myself.

As if he read my mind, he said, "I didn't follow you if you're wondering." I looked at him and couldn't help but stare at his gorgeous blue eyes. They sort of resemble the night sky. A dark but still blue sky with the stars shining brightly, lighting up the darkness.

"Is everything alright here?" Mrs. Colphy said in concern.

"Yes. We just recognize each other from somewhere," answered the guy. He looked right in Mrs. Colphy's eyes, making her blush a little.

"O-okay then," she said studdering. Then she added, "If you need anything then just ask," and she walked to another table.

That was weird. Coming back to our conversation, I finally got to ask, "How do you know me? You dodged my question when I asked you the first time we met so now, I want some answers," I demanded.

"Wow. Straight to all the good stuff," he said boredly. "It's nothing you need to worry about yet. The only thing you should need to know is my name."

"And that is?" I asked getting annoyed.

"Ethan. Ethan Morgans," he said smiling.

First hour ended sooner than I expected. As soon as the bell rung, Ethan ran out of the classroom. It looked as if he was trying to get away from me. I got up and tried to tail him from behind but got stuck in the crowd of high schoolers, trying to get to class.

Someone tapped my shoulder from behind, making me jump. I turned around and saw that it was Zachary.

"Whoa. Are you okay? Didn't mean to scare you," Zachary said startled by my reaction.

"Yeah. Just a little jumpy," I replied with relief. It was only Zachary.

"Oh. So..." he said trailing off. I saw that he was staring at my eyes so I turned away.

"Uhh, I got to go. Class is starting soon," I said starting to walk away.

"Wait! Aura," he yelled after me.

I turned back around and that was it. I didn't know what happened at first. Everything got quiet and I could feel all eyes on me. And Zachary's was the closest to me. Then I finally understood what was happening. Zachary was kissing me.

You would expect a girl to kiss a guy as hot as Zachary back. Like come one! He can pass as a Abercrombie Model. But nope. I didn't. I pulled away and before I knew it, My hand was already against his cheek. There were gasps coming from the group of people that surrounded us. I gasped too. I was shock. That was the first time I had ever laid my hands on anyone. At all. But when I looked at Zachary, he was smiling. I must have looked confused because his smile became even bigger.

"I knew it," was all he said before he walked away.

After that incident, I couldn't help but think that all the girls I walked past were hating on me. I think it's because I just rejected the hottest guy in school or that the hottest guy in school kissed me. I went with the latter.

I didn't see Zachary for the rest of the day but I saw Cassie. We were in the cafeteria when she came up to me furious.

"I don't know what spell you cast upon my brother but you have to break it now before I do something that will make you regret that you had ever been born." And like that, she walked away.

Her threat sounded empty somehow. I felt like she didn't mean it. Couldn't hurt me in any way. It was so weird.

The rest of my classes flew by and the end of the day finally came. I was told to stay in the office because my mother would be picking me up. I waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. And waited some more. After almost two hours of waiting, i finally stood up.

"I think I'll just bike home Ms. Beckie," I said as I was walking out.

"Aura, I don't think that's a good-" It was too late. I was already outside.

Ring. Ring. Ring.

I stopped right where I was. I think it was a phone ringing.The problem was, I didn't have a phone. And nobody was outside with me.

Ring. Ring. Ring.

"Hello?" I called out.

"Hello?" I heard answer back. It was coming from the side of the school. I rushed over trying to be as quiet as I could. You would have never guess who it was.

"Ethan?" I whispered. What is he still doing here? I asked myself. I stepped on something slippery and slipped. I caught myself before he saw me and hid. Wait, why am I even hiding?

"How was it?" asked the person from the phone. and how am I hearing this? I thought. I glanced at Ethan, who was now walking back and forth.

"What? School? It was alright. Only one complaint though," Ethan replied.

"Oh. The girl," replied the voice behind the phone.

Girl? What girl?

"That was never part of the deal!" Ethan replied to the voice.

"Don't you hear yourself? It. Was. Never. Part. Of. The. Deal. So deal with it."

"But-"

"No buts. The deal was you kill the girl. So kill her. Unless you want the prophecy to come true. Remember what happened to your mother?"

"Don't you ever bring her up again. Leave her out of this. She's suffered enough of your torment!" He yelled.

"Whatever. Finish your end of the deal first Ethaniel."

"And which one might that be?" Ethan said with fierceness in his voice.

"Kill Aura Carter."

Those three words were all it took. I dropped all my stuff, ran passed my bike, ran away from the school, and kept running until I got to a lake.
