❝I am profoundly enchanted by the flowing complexity in you.❞ -John Keats
Diana's outfit attached!
I used to love going to parties. I loved to drink just until I was perfectly tipsy, I loved staying out late and sleeping over at a friend's place and I loved dancing until I couldn't dance anymore. I still enjoy parties, but I found that I have outgrown them over the years.
Aly and I are quite different in many ways. She loves to party, I'd rather listen to music and read a book. She dresses to the tens, I like to wear hoodies and jeans. Despite how different we are, I wouldn't trade her for the world. She was my first friend, and now my best friend.
Alyce is currently pacing around her room as I laid in her bed, bored beyond death. Alyce wasn't sure what to wear and she has been making me sit through her wardrobe changes to see what I thought of the outfits.
"What about this one?" Alyce asks, wearing a pretty, black dress. She does a dramatic twirl and sighs as she looks at herself in the mirror.
I look her up and down. She does look good in that. "Alyce, we're going to a high school party. That's too formal."
Alyce groans, stomping into her closet again. "You're right. Should I go for more of a hoe-look or a preppy-look?"
I chuckle at Alyce's worrisome self. "You need to find the perfect mix between the two."
Alyce sighs again, deep and heavy, "This is too hard. I'll just wear a garbage bag."
"I've seen your closet, Aly," I tell her. "You have more clothes than the H&M down the street. Honestly, just wear something you've worn to a previous party."
Alyce exits her closet, with piles of clothes in her hand, looking completely aghast. "How dare you suggest that to me? I would rather wear nothing than the same outfit from a different party!"
Alyce is too dramatic. "I'm sure Hunter would like that, too."
Alyce finally settles on a maroon tube top and ripped jeans. I put on the outfit Alyce had picked out for me in mere seconds, happy to finally be on our way to the Thompsons.
She had picked out a grey top, my leather jacket and black jeans with a pair of white Stans. It is a simple outfit that I would wear on a daily basis, but is casual and nice enough for a party.
We drive to the Thompsons house, making sure to park in their garage since we know the streets will be flooding with cars, and there is no way Alyce would risk leaving her vehicle out in the open with a bunch of drunk teens.
Jasper lets us in, hugging both of us before leading us to their giant living room. "Hey, guys," Katia is already here. "Aly, do you mind helping me with these speakers?"
"No problem." Alyce goes over to the large set of speakers and begins moving them with Katia as Thalia starts setting up her phone for the playlist.
"Oh, Jasper," I say, grabbing his wrist before he can go back to putting up decorations. "Noah, Damon and Hunter offered to help cleanup after."
"Sure," Jasper shrugs. "We have a lot of guest bedrooms, too. Tell them they're welcome to stay over for the night."
"They did what?" Thalia gasps, coming over. "You're letting those flirting cavemen stay the night?"
"They're helping us cleanup after the biggest party we're ever going to throw," Jasper says, smirking at his sister. "I'm just being polite."
Thalia groans. "You're too nice, Jasper."
