-Few days Later-
Max has been ignoring me. Every attempt I make to talk to him I either get interrupted or he makes himself extra busy. These royal tasks that I've been helping my father with do not help the situation either.
I see Max walking upstairs and then it hit me. I have a plan to speak with him.
I make my way to Amelia's room. I knock gently, "Come inside." I enter while smiling.
She narrows her eyes at me, "How may I help you Miss Coraline?" I smile and shut her door.
"Amelia, I need you to help me get Max to speak with me." She folds her arms, "Absolutely not." I sigh, "I've got a plan." She sighs defeatedly, "Alright, I'm listening."
-Later-
I am currently in the library, awaiting Max's arrival.
I hear Amelia's voice, "In there." I hear the doors open and shut behind him. I then creep out behind the massive book shelf and pull a chair against the doors.
He then turns around as I sit down on the chair. His jaw clenches, "Miss Coraline, I need to get something to the royal highness."
I shake my head, "Not actually, if anything I am the royal highness." He sighs and folds his arms.
I stare up at him, "Max, what you saw the other day was not what you think. Edward kissed me unexpectedly, to be honest, I was closing my eyes and thinking about you. Edward obviously took it the wrong way, and kissed me. I agreed to try and play along with the whole 'engagement' but I am failing. Instead, I am falling in love with the man in front of me. I know that I'll be commiting a crime for being in love with you, but I don't mind."
He analyses me, "How do I know what your saying is true?" I stood up from the chair and asked challengingly.
"Have I ever lied to you?" He took a moment and shook his head. "Fortunately not." I push the chair slowly away from the door.
"Are you still upset?" He exhales a sharp breath. He then takes a step forward towards me.
I am glued to my spot, he then caresses my arms and holds my hands. His breath fanning over my neck and my cheek.
He leans into my ear to whisper. "No." I cold chill runs down my spine and then he puts his hands on each sides of my cheeks.
I shut my eyes and he chuckles, "Hopefully I am not misunderstanding you but your expecting a kiss, am I correct?" I chuckle and nod.
He brushes his lips against my cheek. I run my hands through his disheveled hair.
We both quickly broke away when Edward barged inside.
He furrowed his eyebrows at Max and I. I try stealing a glance at Max as his holding my arms behind my back.
"That's how you do self-defence princess." He lets go of my arms and I nod. "Ah, thank you kind sir. Now I am aware."
Edward smiles and kisses my forehead. I watch as Max looks the other direction.
Edward holds my hands, "Love, soon you need to go for your dress fitting as do I my suite fitting. Our cake tasting shall be soon."
I nod, "Thank you, Edward." He smiles, "How lucky am I to make you my wife." I smile. He glances at Max who quickly looked away from us.
"You may proceed teaching her self-defense, although a library is a very odd place to do it." I nod, "Yes, well, you'll never know when there'll be a rebel attack."
Edward nods, "Very well then." He walks out while shutting the door.
I sigh and smile as I glance at Max. We both burst out laughing. He glanced at his watch, "I need to go Laur. I'll see you later, maybe?"
I smile and nod.
