I've been doing some last minute prep for my coronation day.
I decided to go and talk with my father. I knock on his study door. "Enter."
I enter the study and he glances up at me before proceeding with his work. I sigh, he then looks up at me. "Yes?"
I sit down and then I stare at my hands. He glances at me, "Well, you didn't just come here to sit in presence and say nothing."
I nod, "Correct. Father about the other day, I am truely sorry for what happened between us." He stares at me but remains silent.
I say slowly, "But I ment everything that I said." I watch his jaw contract and relax. "Father, another thing. I want Melissa and her fiancé Ryan to join me at my wedding and my coronation."
He looks furious, "Absolutely not." I frown, "Father, she is still your daughter. Whether you like it or not, as soon as I become queen they will have a place in this castle."
He sighs and runs his hands through his hair. "I know it's difficult for you to accept that your daughter's cannot accept royal protocol. Ryan is not as bad as you think."
He furrows his eyebrows, "My daughter's cannot accept protocol?"
Crumbs, I now realised what I've said.
I sigh and look down, "Yes." He stares at me, "What can you not accept?" "Marrying Edward." My father sighs and shuts his eyes.
He asks frustratedly, "Why not?" I smile, "Because my heart belongs with someone else. I am in love with someone else."
My father furrows his eyebrows, "Who is this someone else? Does he own a castle? Is he a Prince?"
I shrug, "Well, he does live in a castle." He nods, "Which one?" I stare at the floor, "Ours."
My father stands up furiously, "Laura Marie Coraline! You brought a foreigner into the castle without my permission?!"
I shake my head, "No, no, no, his not a foreigner. His a guard."
My dad stops. He sits down. He stares at me. Clearly shocked with my statement he asked again.
"He's a guard?" I nod. He clenches his jaw, "Which one?" I inhale, "Maxwell Hugh." I exhale.
My father is practically fuming. "Who else knows about this?" "No one else."
Except for Ginger,Amelia, Melissa and Ryan.
He glares at nothing in particular. "As long as you marry Edward, this relationship between you and the guard can happen."
I sigh, "But father I-" He cuts me off, "I will hear no more of this. You are excused to leave."
I sigh as I get up and exit his study room. I make my way into the library as this has become my secret hideout.
I slid down the wall in the dark corner of the library and curl up into a ball.
I hear the library doors open and I hear two voices. I can make out both of them.
"Let's leave the rebel attacks for now. We'll plan another after the wedding."
"Very well then sir." I flinch as I hear a fist slam into a table, "You better be more careful when leaking information, you fool."
I then hear the other male say frantically, "But no one knows that you're the rebel leader sir."
"Would you like to say that any louder, you fool?"
I stand up and inch closer to where they're standing. I try and make out the figures but fail miserably.
I try and inch closer but knock a few books down. I then hear the male voice, "Whose there?" I then hide behind the opposite book shelf.
I hear them talking more quietly now. I then inch closer and I almost gasp when I see the two men standing in front of me.
Edward and Sir Lucas.
I was about to confront them when a hand was put over my mouth. "When I remove my hand and you scream you will be punished. So I suggest you keep quite princess, if you knew what was best for you."
I lock eyes with Edward who was glaring at me. "Well my love, I guess my secret is out. You will still marry me, don't you worry about that."
Lucas removed his hand, "I should of known. How can one be so loving while one posses such hatred towards innocent people?"
Edward laughs, "Clearly, you've spent to much time here in this library." I glare at him, "You will regret this Edward."
He smirks, "I doubt it, sweetheart." I turn and see Lucas, "You were so loyal Lucas, what happened?"
He smirks, "Acting, is a very valuable tool in life."
I try and make my way to the door, but Edward grabs my waist.
"I cannot let you go, my love." I try and push him off, but I freeze when he pulls out a knife and presses it gently against my back.
