-A Week Later-
Today is the day I wait patiently for Max and the other guards to arrive.
I'm a combination of anxiety and happiness all at once. I fly downstairs and chow down my breakfast.
I then do my daily training with Amelia, then I spoke a bit to Ginger. I had to then do more wedding preparation and I've even decided on my dress.
I go back upstairs as today is my off day. I sit and wait patiently. All the waiting made me sleepy and the next thing I know, I'm fast asleep.
-Later-
I freshen up and walk downstairs. I jump when I am pulled closer to someone. I sense a bit of familiarity and smile when I realise it's Max.
To my own suprise I started crying and I whispered, "I'm so glad that you're okay. Oh I was worried sick about you."
He stroked my hair, "Shhh. Don't cry Laur, I'm here. I'm so happy to be here and back with you."
I chuckle and pull away, "Awww Max. I never took your bracelet off." He chuckles, "Kind of stuck to you now, huh?" I smile and nod.
He updates me on the war and what happened on his training. I smile and nod as I am fascinated to know.
I glance at Max and scan his features. He looks more grown up. His more masculine from when I last saw him and his got this stubble look going on.
He looks even more attractive than the last time that I saw him. He smiles at me, "You pleased with what you see?" I blush and look away.
He cocks his head to the side, "You know, one day, everything will fall into place. Even us."
Even us..
I stare at him but before I could say something I was interrupted by Ginger. "Sorry Laura and sir Hugh, I just need to borrow Laura for her final dress fitting."
Max nods, "No problem, Miss Ginger." I glance at him sympatheticly, "Alright then, let's get that final fitting."
Ginger smiles and nods.
Once we were doing the fitting, she glanced up at me and asked shyly, "May I please ask you a question?"
I smile, "Of course." She nods, "Well, sir Hugh really fancies you." I smile, "You think so?" She smiles and nods, "I know I shouldn't of, but I overheard him and the other guards talking about you. He went on and on about how his had few encounters with you and how you're a phenomenal person."
I blush, "He really said that? Wow." She nods. "Yes." I stare at myself in my wedding dress. "Ginger, I'm about to tell you something that you cannot tell anyone else." She stands up and nods, "Yes Laura?"
"I fancy him too. I do not love Edward, I've been trying to persuade myself into falling in love with him. But I just cannot, my heart belongs to Max. But I know father will not tolerate such a romance. Mother would have a heart attack. I just think that there's so much more to life than this."
She looks shocked as she digests my words. After a while she smiled, "I agree."
I smile, "You do?" She nods, "Yes, I say that you and Max should build on your romance. Hopefully, you two will be able to live out your romance."
I sigh, "As do I."
-Later-
Edward has been gone all day, and father has been ignoring me.
I make my way over to Max as his on duty near the library. I smirk at him, "Well hello there, Sir Hugh."
He laughs, "You amuse me, Miss Coraline." I flutter my eyes and curtsey. I take in my surroundings checking to see if no one was around.
Fortunately, no one was here so I sneakily walked up to Max before crashing my lips on his.
I pull away and head inside the library leaving a flustered looking Max behind me.
A few moments later I hear the library doors open. I see Max entering and I clear my throat, "Over here."
He makes his way to me in the far back corner of the library. He smirks, "What a way to leave me." I smile.
He then caresses my arm before holding my face in his hands. His lips crash on mine once again, but this time there's meaning to the kiss.
We here the doors open and we both quickly slide to two opposite sides of the room.
"My love?" I walk away from the book shelf. "Yes, Edward?" He sees me and smiles, "I've missed you today. I've been out all day."
I chuckle lightly, "Yes, well my day has been pretty good." He nods, "I'm glad. I'm so excited to marry you my love."
I smile.
