Keith's been gone for five years.

Five long painful years

He told me he would return with Shiro

He promised!

Ever since he was gone the world has gone to crap.

The Galra took over our planet and me and a couple of others were forced to flee to the safety of the Garrison. There I was taught how to fly and care for people in the hospital. Currently I was in a flying simulator when the alarms sounded, signaling new survivors had returned. I quickly paused the simulator and rushed out of the pod.

Is Keith finally back?!

I thought to myself as I rushed along the empty hallways. I skidded to a stop in front of the main door and eagerly pressed the open button. It opened and I ran through the crowd. I looked for that familiar mullet. I spotted it and I rushed towards it but as I got closer I realized.

It wasnt Keith.

I slowly turned around and walked back to my simulator. Fearing that one day Keith would never come back.  I sat down in the pod and continued my flight.

~keith's pov~

I promise her

I thought as I pushed the controls on my lion to go faster

I would come back

I pushed them even further

And I will

I pushed my controls as hard as I could making voltron fly at maximum speed. Seconds later we were in earth's atmosphere.

"Cmon paladins! We need to head to the Garrison!"

"Right back at ya! Do you think our families will be there?"

Lance asked concerned

"I hope so."

Pidge said

Suddenly the Garrison was in sight. The team un formed voltron and landed their lions in front of the Garrison. I rushed out of my lion and ran to the force field.

"LET US IN!"

I shouted.

The alarms sounded once again. I didnt even bother getting out of bed because I knew Keith wasnt going to come back. I closed my eyes and remembered one of me and keiths dates.

I sat on the beach leaning my head on Keith's shoulder.

"(Y/n) I have to leave again."

I lifted my head off his shoulder and looked into his eyes.

"Why?"

I whispered. Keith pulled me into a hug and rested his chin on top of my head.

"Shiros in trouble, I have to save him. Dont worry I'll be back."

He pulled away and rested his hands on my shoulders.

"How long, w-will you be gone?"

I managed to choke out

"Just a day, dont worry it's not another mission."

"Good."

I said and I kissed his cheek. He pulled my back and our lips connected. I closed my eyes and melted into the kiss.

I was awoken from my day dream by a pair of arms wrapped around me. I rolled over to see

"KEITH!"

I yelled and I pulled him into an embrace. He chucked and hugged back.

"Hey babygirl."

I pulled away from the hug and looked at Keith.

"You aged, like alot."

He chuckled.

"Well I traveled through space, and it kinda ages you alot."

I giggled and sat up from the bed.

"I missed you so much."

He got up and smiled.

"You wanna know what I missed the most?"

"What?"

He cupped my face and pulled me in for a kiss. I put my arms around his neck deepening the kiss. We pulled away moments later gasping for air.

"I'm so glad your back."

"Me too."

Keith said as he pulled me in for another kiss.
