GOING TO SCHOOL after spending the entire night searching the town for Stiles and getting less than four hours of sleep wasn't Scott and Sierra's best plan. Their minds were distracted, their feet dragged in the hallway. Most importantly it seemed like every few seconds one of them was checking their cell for any updates on the boy. Sierra couldn't sit still, anxiously fiddling with a pencil or the ends of her hair while she waited for Mr. Stilinski to text her back. Scott was just as bad, his head completely in the clouds.
Lydia on the other hand continuously kept jumping at the sound of a pen falling to the floor or a door closing in a different hallway. Her senses were heightened for some reason, especially her hearing, which made for a killer headache. Sierra finally asked her quietly if she was alright, seeing the dazed expression on the strawberry blonde's face. "Yeah," Lydia replied unconvincingly, making Scott and Sierra exchange confused looks. "Just a little hyper-sensitive to loud sounds today." She flinched instantly from a locker slamming shut, the sound ringing in her ears.
Sierra released a heavy sigh and clutched her books closer to her chest as she faced her friend. "They're doing...tests on Stiles all afternoon," she revealed what she learned from the sheriff, hoping to distract Lydia. She hadn't talked about it since she found out, the worse possible outcomes replaying on a loop in her brain. But Lydia was Stiles' friend too; she deserved to know. "I was going to go visit after school with Scott. Do you want to come with us?"
Lydia didn't look them in the eye, the guilt from not being able to locate Stiles the night before still eating at her insides. "I think I should probably just go home," she replied softly, wincing as someone down the hall dropped their textbook.
Scott's eyebrows furrowed in concern, "Are you sure you're okay?"
The girl barely nodded, glancing at them for less than a second to repeat that she was okay, just a bit frazzled. "I'll text you guys later," Lydia told them before she slowly walked away with her arms hugging her stomach.
Her friends watched her walk away, looking at one another knowingly as Scott quickly shut his locker so they could get to their next class.
