Strife.
A more complex term that simply meant conflict. It was an anger-filled word that only fueled the Nogitsune further, especially as he watched the scene unfold in front of him.
The air was thick with tension the moment the sheriff laid eyes on his only child, and it only worsened when Noah realized Stiles was nowhere to be seen. "You're not my son," Noah had whispered sadly, making the Nogitsune lose his charade and quickly disregard the handcuffs that had been tightened around his wrists.
Allison, Jemma, Derek and Chris walked into the loft, taking stances behind Noah that made the Nogitsune chuckle darkly under his breath in amusement. Jemma inhaled sharply from seeing her sister's boyfriend and best friend look completely unlike himself. His light brown eyes had faded and narrowed slightly, a twisted smirk pulling his lips as his focus danced across all of them.
"Where's Sierra?"
The question asked by Allison hung in the air, her cold tone demanding an answer. It was hard for her to look at Stiles as well, seeing the boy who usually had a cheeky grin glaring harshly in her direction. Allison's hand tightened unconsciously around the taser in her grip from his stare.
"You mean she's not safe with Scott?" the Nogitsune questioned in fake disbelief, his head cocking to the side. "If you all are always worried about her, I think it's time you realize she shouldn't go places all alone. She may claim she can handle herself, but I guess I proved her wrong, didn't I?"
The words hit Jemma like a ton of bricks but it was the huntress who quickly sprung into action. Allison lifted her hand and the taser flew towards the Japanese demon. Unfortunately, the Nogitsune was stronger than she thought. He caught the electrified wire and pulled it out of her grasp, a look of disgust and annoyance covering his face.
Derek growled and leapt forward, but wasn't fast enough. Stiles twisted his left arm behind his back and used his strength to slam his head against the table before flinging Derek into the air and against the brick wall.
Jemma was about to charge, her hands poised in front of her, until the sound of a gun made everyone freeze.
The Nogitsune slowly turned his head to see Chris and raised his eyebrows in curiosity from the man's blank face. Noah raised his hand in attempt to talk down the hunter. "Argent, listen to me. Don't do this."
