In the train they sat opposite each other, even though there was hardly anyone there because Phil couldn't risk it, didn't want to risk it. But the view out of the window was absolutely astonishing and enough to distract him from his thoughts. Scotland, they were here to do a few interviews in Edinburgh and then they would be home. How was Phil meant to avoid being close to Dan for three whole days, he just couldn't.

The interviews were made awkward because they couldn't sit together, there had to be a space between them which was extremely obvious to anyone, particularly those that watched their videos and were familiar with them. Phil hated it, absolutely hated it. He liked being close to Dan, it made him feel comfortable, made these things less awkward, made him less afraid to answer the questions that the interviewers threw at them.

On their last night in Edinburgh they decided to go out for dinner and then try to find a pub of some sort as they never usually went outside when they were in London. They sat opposite each other in the little restaurant, ever so often catching each other's eyes awkwardly.

"Dan I .... I can't keep doing this"

Phil said quietly, looking up at Dan as he ate, they sat alone in the corner of the restaurant where the window was, people walking past glancing in at them, Phil wondered if they got the wrong idea about them but didn't really care what their opinions were.

"Doing what Phil? Eating?"

"No Howell.... I can't keep doing this crap..... I can't keep creating this distance between us I can't"

"Alright Lester would you rather everyone sees your fucking glowing chest then?"

"Dan please...."

"Phil can we just enjoy one dinner together without all this"

Phil nodded. It wasn't fair on Dan, none of this was fair on Dan. After sitting in silence for a long time while eating phil decided to start a new conversation, one that was probably just as irritating to Dan.

"Hey Dan?"

"Yes Phil"?

Phil's eyes were following a small dog that was walking by outside, a small smile on his face as he watched it.

"C...can we get a dog?"

"Ugh Phil really?"

"Yes... please Dan please?."

"One crazy subject after another with you ain't it Philly."

"That didn't answer my question Danny"

"Why would you want a dog?"

"Why wouldn't I?"

"So you can start breeding them too?"

"Wow Dan ....."

Phil thought of a way he could annoy Dan about his past too before snorting to himself and imitating Dan's first video.

"Hi..... my name is Dan"

Phil laughed doing the hand actions and all.

"You little shit"

Dan glared at Phil making his point clear, but they laughed and joked throughout the rest of their dinner before coming out and back onto the high street, it was dark by now but getting colder by the minute. Phil shivered huddling closer into Dan, his chest began to glow, he sighed and stepped to the side. It was so unfair that he couldn't be at all close to Dan without having to move away in fear of what others might think. But Dan put his arm around Phil's shoulder looking down at him, Phil's scared expression made him feel the need to say something.
