"i have decided to use the power of veto on myself. bayleigh, since i have just vetoed one of your nominations, you must name a replacement nominee." winston sat down in bayleigh's seat as bayleigh stood up in front of everyone.

you knew what was coming, but nothing could have prepared you enough for the words you heard next.

"i'm naming (y/n) as the replacement nominee. please take a seat next to brett." as bayleigh said this you tried your hardest to hold back your tears. you sat down in the nomination chair next to brett, and winston ended the veto ceremony.

everyone gave you hugs and emotionless apologies. you knew it was the plan to backdoor you all along, but it hurt worse knowing you were on the block next to your best friend, and you weren't going to be able to campaign against him. the hope was that brett would win veto, so that you were sitting next to winston instead, but unfortunately, this wasn't the case.

you stopped accepting hugs and went into the have not room. as you were finally alone, you let the tears fall from your eyes. you heard the door open and looked up to see brett standing in front of you with a sympathetic look on his face.

"hey hey it's okay. i'm gonna tell them all to evict me"

"oh hell no you won't. don't you dare do that. you deserve to be here way more than i do. you didn't do anything. i'm the one who backdoored her boyfriend, so i'm the one that needs to go. please don't ask to be evicted"

brett sighed, accepting defeat as he wrapped his arms around and pulled you closer to him. you two sat there in a comfortable silence for a few minuets until you heard him mumble something. you weren't sure if you were meant to hear it or not, but you did.

"what did you say?" you didn't need to ask because you already knew, but you wanted to confirm it.

"huh? i didn't say anything." you could feel his arms tense up when you asked him. you knew he was lying.

"yeah right, i heard what you said. your mouth is right by my ear dumbass."

you waited for a second to see if he would reply. when he didn't after a few seconds you simply said, "i love you too."

brett pulled away from the hug you two had been so that he could look at you.

"wait you do?"

"yes, brett. i have since we had our first late night conversation in the hammock"

he simply smiled at you before leaning in. you were quick to follow suit, and soon, your lips were moving together perfectly. after a few seconds, you pulled away and smiled like a complete idiot.
