your pov

you were, currently, in the backyard playing pool with tyler and scottie. you guys were just talking about some random things going on in the game, when the topics of showmances came up. the only true know showmance in the house had been swaggy and bayleigh.

scottie had asked tyler if he and kaitlyn were ever a thing, to which he replied, "no, but i think she wanted more than a friendship. but she also said she had a boyfriend, so i don't really know what was going on with her." tyler then took the open window to question scottie.

"what about you and hayleigh." he smirked looking at scottie. scottie started to blush, and you looked down and frowned.

you and scottie had been pretty good friends since entering the house. you had started to grow feelings, but kept them to yourself. you thought he was feeling the same way, until about 2 weeks ago, when he started hanging with hayleigh a lot more. hayleigh has also started flirting with scottie a ton, and it made you think that she and scottie liked each other.

when tyler asked this question, you really wanted to hear what scottie had to say about it. however, after a couple of moments, scottie hadn't said anything, it made you think he was hiding something. he eventually responded by saying, "nothing really. we're just friends."

tyler just shrugged it off, but you kept thinking about it.

later that night, you had walked into the backyard to go sit and chat with angela and kaycee on the couches. as soon as you walked outside you say hayleigh and scottie laying in the hammock. you frowned as you went over to the couches and sat down.

you hadn't realized how long you had been starring at them until kaycee nudged you.

"dude are you ok? you haven't said one word since we came out here."

"huh? yeah i'm good. i'm gonna uhh go to the umm bathroom. yeah i've got to go the bathroom, i'll talk to y'all later." you got up and walked inside.

you walked into the have-not room and curled up on one of the beds. you weren't really sure why seeing them together made you so upset. maybe you liked scottie more than you thought you did. you shrugged it off as your thought were interrupted by the door opening.

"oh sorry (y/n) i- wait are you ok?" scottie had a worried expression on his face.

you scowled at him as you got up.

"yeah, i'm perfect thanks for asking."

you started to walk towards the door, but scottie moved in front of you and forced you to stop walking.

"what's wrong? please tell me."

"nothings wrong, why don't you just leave me alone and go hang out with your little girlfriend."

"what are you talking about?"

"you know who i'm talking about?" scottie looked at you with a look of confusion. he truly didn't know who or what you were referring to. he cocked his head to the side, and you figured he was just playing dumb.

"hayleigh dumbass, i'm talking about you and hayleigh." now he was even more confused.

"i'm not sure what your referring to, but like i said earlier, hayleigh and i are just friends. the better i'm in with her, the less likely i am to get nominated by that side of the house. you need to calm down."

"oh, so it's all strategy?"

scottie nodded.

"am i just strategy?"

"no, of course not. you know your my best friend in this house. i would do anything to make sure you and i stay in this house together."

your frown slowly turned into a smile as he said this to you.

"just your best friend?" you asked innocently, trying to play it off as a joke.

"um, i- i- i mean, yeah. un-unless you want me to say something else, then i can uh can say no. but i-"

you cut him off by leaning in and kissing him. it was a risk because you didn't know how he would respond, but your doubts were washed away as you kissed you back.

after you pulled away, his face housed an expression of confusion mixed with shock.

"sorry." you nervously laughed trying to get him to say something. after a few moments, he hadn't once moved.

"uh scottie?? are you there?" you waved your hand in front of his face, and he blinked a few times before nodding.

"yeah- i uh- woah." you giggled at his nervousness.

"why did you do that? do you like, like me? like, like like me?"

"um maybe?" you shrugged and looked down, thinking that you had just ruined your friendship.

"really? i like you too!" your eyes grew wide as he said this.

"wait, you do?" the expression on your face was nothing other than hope and wonder. it had been almost 40 days of you wanting to tell him your feelings, but you never had the confidence. you guessed all you needed was a little bit of fuel... or jealousy.

"yeah" scottie looked at you and smiled. the two of you leaned in and kissed again before being interrupted by the door opening.

"HOLY SHIT. SCOTTIE'S FINALLY GETTIN' SOME"

you pulled away and buried your face in your hands from embarrassment.
