Diesel burst from the checkpoint, eyes wide with shock and fear. "I ain't never seen one of yous in my life! I thought yalls went extinct centuries ago!" He scrambled backwards as Jordan hit the ground. He managed to stand on two legs, putting down the people he'd saved. He swung his huge head, before leaning it down to get a closer look at Diesel. Diesel reached out a hand, calming down a tiny bit. "Jordan." He whispered, resting his hand on the huge lizard's body. "I told yous you were strong enough, boy. Look what ye are now."
The humans were huddled as close as they could get to each other while still being tied up. Focused on the new task at hand, Diesel pulled away and knelt down, beginning to untie the few lucky people to survive. "Yous are lucky." He grunted, helping all four of them to their feet.
"W-who are you?" One asked, trembling. "You aren't a vampire. Plus y-you're talking to that Dragon like its—like its a human!"
"He is human. Jordan, ain't yous going to shift back?" Diesel looked up at him expectantly, but Jordan huffed and turned away. A strong 'no', if Diesel had ever seen one.
"Come inside. I'll get you some food and water." The old man guided them inside, and Jordan realized he'd left his clothing there at the blood moon spot. He hoped they were still there as he spread his wings again.
Just his luck, they weren't. Some vampire bitch must've stolen them. Oh well. He'd find some more later. By the time he'd gotten back to the checkpoint, all of the victims were asleep, somehow. "Knocked 'em out with sleepin' meds in they's water. Need their rest, theys do." Diesel explained. "What? Yer clothes weren't there?"
Diesel shook his head, blinking expectantly down at the older male. Sighing, Diesel went into the checkpoint building and came back out a few minutes later with more clothing. "But hey, boy. Before ya shift back 'n' all, I wanted ter ask ya somethin'. I wanted t' see if ya would turn me into one of yous. A beast. It seems a lot safer than bein' human, y'know?"
Slithers, what do I do? He asked expectantly, and Slithers' reply was simple.
"Bitee him." The voice said, but he was now more than just a voice: he'd been transformed into a dragon, too.
Diesel let out a nervous grunt as Jordan—as gently as he could—latched onto his arm with sharp jaws. "What're ya—OW!" He let out a yell as Jordan bit down, with just enough pressure to break skin and draw blood. Diesel ripped his arm back when Jordan let go, and Jordan licked his jaws of blood.
"Did yer have to bite me? Sorr' if what I said was rude but tha' was unnecessary!" Diesel snapped, making Jordan huff. He asked for it! He wondered if Diesel would go to sleep and wake up in the linoleum hall. With the woman. Would she change him, too?
