Faith's POV

I Still couldn't believe that Xavier was forcing me to stay here and making me work on top of it all. Why ? He has all the money in the world to hire somebody. He could hire the worlds best chef- in fact. Then why not? Why me?
He just wants me here for absolutely no reason and here I am - I can barely do anything about it.
I walked in the kitchen and there was only one maid. Unusual because there's always so many.

Do I have more to do now ? Am I the kidnapped replacement?
"Hi! You must be Faith! I'm Samantha the head cook. But you can call me Sam." She smiled and I did the same as I shook her hand.
" nice to meet you Sam."
"So Sir has probably already told you about the rules but you should really adhere to a couple more carefully" she spoke hesitating.
"Which are?"
"We'll make sure you don't bend the recipe and get it approved if you will be and don't try anything that may be harmful sweetie. That's all. Alright?" She said sweetly. I nodded

She gave me a list of what I needed to make for lunch and told me she'll let me cook while she cleans and organized around.
Fortunately, Sam cooked everything already to help me out and I only had to make the chicken pasta on here. That should be easy. I've made that before.

Once I started, The process of making went a lot faster than o thought it would. Sam was always right by my side and assisted me so much.
Isn't it wild that everyone in this house is so nice other than the one that owns it ?
Why can't he see that he didn't deserve a lifestyle with such amazing people?
Why can't he see that other people have the right to their lives and life as much as he does ?
Why can't you see Mr. Arrogant that I have someone waiting for me at home and that...

Nona. Everything brings my mind and my thoughts back to her. I miss you so much Nona. I wish I could somehow let you know that I am okay and well.
I mean I'm not dying but is living a lifeless life better than death anyway?

Thinking about my Nona and the hilarious and sweet memories we shared...it brought me to the memories where I would ask for help in the kitchen and she would tell me her tiny secrets that would make her food taste so amazing. She told me that only I knew about her secrets to deliciousness and nobody else.
My Nona has always been so supportive and practically raised me into who I am today.
I and most would say she's done an excellent job at it.
I miss you Nona.

Then it hit me! Nona would squeeze half a lemon on her pasta and it would taste so good and fresh. Just then I took out a lemon and put in the microwave for a couple of seconds so it would be easier to squeeze it and squeezed it all
over the pasta, making sure it wasn't too much or too less. Just enough for the light flavor. See Nona, you can be far yet so near me.

Mr. Arrogant better appreciate this. He doesn't ever deserve to eat this. Not if I used my Nona's special tricks on it.

In all honesty, I hope he chokes.

When lunch time arrived, me and Sam set all the food up on the table. I was so thankful for her because I couldn't have done it without her.
Xavier came out of the room with a formal grey suit with his hair slicked back. He looked really handsome and probably had plans to go somewhere. Not me. I thought. He was flipping thru papers in a red file before handing them to Leo and finally took a seat. Dear Ma followed right after him. Ma sat at the head of the table and smiled at me as I returned it as well.

"All smells lovely dear. Did you make today's lunch?" Ma asked sweetly. I nodded " me and Sam" I responded making sure sam didn't feel left out, after all... it was true.

I decided to set Ma's plate while Sam set Xavier's plate, making sure I added just about enough of every dish. I looked over at Xavier who seemed annoyed as he eyebrows were close together and he wouldn't put his stupid phone away.
How rude!
Was it because I didn't set his plate? Was it because of something else like work? Whatever it may be, I shrugged the thoughts away, I didn't have to care.
I don't need to worry about his mood. He can stay like a cranky radio if he wants To.
