These days, I didn't want to revert to the 'normal' pose which was to have a person stare at you straight on with a random expression without doing anything with their hands-

that was a huge ramble but I think you can get it

basically, I want to tell a story in my drawing so by adding expressions and what the character is doing, you can basically tell yourself, oh this character's feeling this because of that

idk something like that

for example, (btw the person in the picture is an OC of mine from The Two Florets) I didn't want to draw Ryder looking 'boring' with a random facial expression and the same pose so I wanted his actions to tell a story.

as you can see the only piece of furniture in the background is a pot that reads 'to: Ryder' with a flower inside of it and with Ryder staring at the flower pot, you can say he's feeling [ enter an expression that fits here oml ]
