3rd person:
It was a few months after Jack and Rye were official. They've been the happiest they could be. They've been so caught up in love that they forgot about Brooklyn. After their morning filled with kisses and cuddles, Jack leaves the warmth of the bed to make some food. On the way to the kitchen, he notices Mikey giggling at his phone.

"Oh Mikey boy. Who are you giggling at?" Jack teases.

Mikey freezes and sheepishly tells him, "You'll all know in time."

Jack grins and rushes to his room, where Brooklyn was. He burst through the room to see Brooklyn laughing at cat videos.

"Mate, have you texted anyone in the past ten minutes?" Jack eagerly asks the confused blonde.

"I have. Why are you asking Duffy?" Brooklyn says.

"I don't know. I'm just curious. I'll see you at dinner tonight, to celebrate the band and how far it's come," Jack says.

He jogs back to the kitchen, to find Rye making s cup of tea.

"Sorry, Rye. I was checking on the Mikey and Brooklyn situation. I think they're both texting each other. They were laughing and smiling. I think they're going to announce it tonight at dinner," Jack tells Rye.

"M'kay, Jacky. It's okay. Mikey really has Brooklyn wrapped around his finger. I'm happy for them. We just have to be patient for them to tell us. Now, let's eat some sandwiches," Rye says.

Jack and Rye spent the rest of the day plotting how cute the dinner would go.

Time Skip

As they were walking to dinner, Brooklyn kept giggling at his phone while Mikey was looking around, day dreaming. Rye was holding Jack's hand while Andy, Brooklyn, and Mikey were casually walking side by side.

Andy opened the door and Brooklyn took off into Andy's arms.

"I need to give you more hugs, Fovvs. Thanks for the funny videos. I really needed that," Brooklyn told Andy.

"It's not a problem, mate. You've been a little down lately," Andy told Brooklyn.

Brooklyn shugged and walked into the restaurant. Jack saw the hug exchange and cooed in his head at how cute Andy would be to his future partner. Rye was nervously looking at his phone, afraid of how the night would end. He was now having doubts about Mikey and Brooklyn being a couple.

As they were seated, the waiter pulled a chair out for the boys, stopping at Mikey.

"If you would like, you could have my number," the waiter told Mikey.

Mikey sheepishly shook his head and said, "Sorry, Miss. I already have someone."

Brooklyn wasn't paying any attention. He was busy talking to the camera, that Blair was holding. He was talking about the best moments of being in the band, Roadtrip.

After the food arrived, it was truly peaceful. They were all eating quietly, with small conversations going on when Mikey burst from his seat.

"I have something to tell you lads. I want Rye, Jack, Andy, Blair, and Brooklyn to know that I have someone in my life. Her name's Sarah and I've been talking to her for about 3 months. So, what do you think?" Mikey asked.

It was as if time stood still. Jack and Rye were shocked to say the least, afraid to move a muscle. Andy was looking at Blair, silently asking if he knew. Blair stared back at Andy, with a slight nod. Brooklyn was mid-bite when Mikey spewed out the words that would forever crush him.

"That's great, Mikey. When do we get to meet her?" Rye softly asked, afraid Brooklyn might break down.

"Um, I was going to wait a few weeks until you boys meet her. You should meet her, one day," Mikey told Rye.

Slowly, all the boys agreed with Mikey, except Brooklyn.

Brooklyn was frozen in place, not knowing if he could breathe. He had to keep his cool. He didn't want Mikey knowing about his crush. He felt love but now that Mikey's gone, it has to be a crush.

After some time, Brooklyn stood up and excused himself to the bathroom. Jack and Rye quickly followed him.

As Jack opened the door, he saw Brooklyn looking at himself in the mirror, hysterically crying. Jack ran to Brooklyn and pulled him into his embrace. Rye had tears in his eyes, afraid of what his friend might become.

Jack pleadingly looked at Rye, looking for a way to fix Brooklyn's heart.

Rye said, "I know you don't understand it, Brooklyn. He's with someone else and you love him. The pain must be so painful. This might be a sign." Brooklyn rants.

"You don't know what I'm feeling, Rye. You got your happy ending, with Jack. I have no one to love me, hold me, or anything. How is this a sign when I only want him? Gosh, I don't know what to bloody do. Fix me, please. How do I fix this?"

"You won't ever be able to fix it, Brooklyn. I can't fix you. I just know that if you feel so much right now, it will eventually get better," Jack tells Brooklyn.

After a beat of silence, Brooklyn tells Jack, "I told you it was a lost cause. I knew it was."
