April

I flipped my collar up to the cold as snow fell heavy in the schoolyard.

"Do you see an Angel?" Alick asked randomly.

I followed his gaze ahead of us to see the faint outline of a figure dressed in white into the woods bordering the school grounds.

"That's no Angel." Together we left the grounds, disappearing into the woods and out of sight. Alick and I kept our distance as we followed a woman wrapped in a white coat that fell below her knees. After fifteen minutes of trailing the woman she turned around. I grabbed Alick's arm, pulling him with me behind a tree.

"Who is it?" I asked him as he faced me behind the trunk.

"Eliza." Alick peeked out behind me.

"Did she see you?"

"No. Why are we following her?"

"Because she's a Banshee." I thought it was obvious.

"I still don't get it."

I sighed. "Banshee's have ulterior motives, you should know that."

Alick grimaced. "I do."

"Good, now let's continue stalking." We left the tree behind to watch Eliza make her way into the church that Charlotte was found in.

"What the hell is she doing?" Alick asked.

"Maybe if we keep walking, we'll find out." I descended the hill, treading lightly in the snow. Banshees could sense vibrations in the airwaves, not to mention their superior smell, sight, taste and touch. They were a true force to be reckoned with.

Spying through a window I noticed that the writing in blood had been removed from the floor, with no trace left. Eliza removed her hood as she looked around the church pews, as if she was searching for something.

"You might not recognise me." Her voice carried throughout the empty church. "But I have come to help you. Please tell me what is keeping you here, and I will try to aid you in your journey."

I pulled out my phone, texting what I wanted to say to Alick. She is speaking to a spirit.

Alick nodded in understanding before we returned our gazes to Eliza.

"You're probably scared, but I promise no harm can come to you." She waited for a good ten minutes, sighing before going to turn back and leave. The light seemed to flicker and goosebumps rose along my arms as Eliza turned back around, smiling at something invisible to Alick and I. "It's nice to see you again."

Alick hit my arm and I turned to him to see he had caught the sleeve of his hoodie on a rusted nail protruding from the stone building. He tugged but the material just stretched.

I swiftly shifted my incisors, biting down on the material and severing it with ease. He fell back onto the snow with a loud grunt.

"Idiot." I hissed.

"I'm sorry. I thought we were alone- no! Please don't go!" Eliza called to the spirit.

"Quick." I grabbed Alick by the collar of his shirt, pulling him behind me as we ran back into the cover of the woods.

Isla

"So this is the famous Minch?"

"Home of the infamous Minch Men." I added.

"Have you ever seen any?" Riley questioned further.

"No." I wrapped my arms around myself against the briny breeze blowing off the sea. "I've never seen any native creatures here."
