Mission

Chapter 12: Mission

"Please you can't tell anyone I'm here, not even Luke." I pleaded.

Calum brought me down to his nerd cave and told me to spill my guts and tell me why on earth would I come to his house.

"I don't know, I tell Luke a lot of things." he said scratching the back of his head.

"Well, this is one of those things you can't tell him."

"Lola, this is a lot to handle."

"Please, Calum. I need answers and I can't waste anymore time."

He sighed and paced the room for awhile.

In my mind, I was thinking he would kick me out and call me insane or the cops. This is insane, I've never asked another person for help before, only Mikey.

"Okay." he finally answered.

"Really?" I asked. Shocked of course but relieved.

"Yeah, just not for so long."

"Thank you."

He smiled "Are you actually thanking me?" he asked.

"Don't gloat about it." I scolded him.

"So, we can go visit Piper tomorrow."

I shook my head "No, we have to do this today."

"What? Why?"

"I need to speak to her, I need to know if the guy who raped her is the same guy who killed Diana."

"But we need Luke to go in with you."

"Can you hack the system with your phone?"

"Yeah, piece of cake, why?"

"Then we don't need Luke." I smiled.

As I walked into the hospital with Calum, my heart rate sped up. I don't know if sneaking in to meet with a patient is what's causing it or the fact that I might actually get answers.

"I'm Patricia," I said to the lady at the front desk "I came to see my cousin Piper." I said putting my hands over my heart.

"Yes, your name is here." she handed me a visitors sticker "I'll have you escorted."

"Thank you." I smiled then walked over to Calum.

"Family only." the guard said stopping us.

"I know but I didn't want to see my cousin by myself. I mean, I bursted into tears when I found out about my dear cousin Piper. He help me through it." I laid my head on his shoulder and wrapped my arm around him "He gave me the courage to come here today and I don't think I could see her without him."

"Okay then." he said before leading us inside.

"Where did that come from?" Calum whispered to me.

"Acting." I said giving him the 'duh' look..

"You have visitors." the guard said to Piper.

"Is it my parents?" she asked.

"No, your cousin."

"Piper." I greeted as I walked in and gave her a small smile "We'll be fine." I told the guard.

"Just call if you need anything." he said before closing the door.

"Who are you?" Piper asked crossing her arms not buying my acting skills.

"Looks like our cover is blown," Calum muttered.
