"Jerk bastard! Where're you going?!" little Lovino asked as he latched himself onto Antonio's leg. The Spanish man was heading to the servants' quarter and had no idea his tomato was awake. He sighed.

"I'm going to check on the colonies tomate, you can wait out here," he smiled softly, but Romano didn't want to wait outside. He insisted on coming in, so he did.

"S-señor," Carlos trembled, "I'm sorry if we were too noisy or something, I promise it won't happen again—"

Antonio waved his hand to silence them.

"Daniel, next time Gabriel comes you are not to speak to him, let alone touch him or kiss him, understand?" for a second he forgot Lovino was there.

"Alejandro, from now on I am making you grow a garden, the tomato seeds were much appreciated, but that's no excuse for slacking off. I expect you to clean and garden, understand?" He got a nod as a response.

"I told Ned to lock Lai in a cage or something. You guys forget: you will speak no other language than Spanish. You will not pray to any of your false Gods, and you will clean," a girl gulped.

"There will also be no socializing and no relationships with any of you, you're basically brothers and sisters, don't disgust me."

Silence, then suddenly...

"Wow you're such a jerk," Antonio turned around quickly and brought a blade up to the neck of the child who made the noise, he was horrified when he saw it was Romano though. The boy looked terrified. He ran out screaming.

"Sleep," he told the colonies as he shut the door and ran after Romano.

"I didn't think he knew anything going on..." Santiago sighed, but then went to his bunk bed he shared with Carlos.

"He scared that kid," someone muttered, but then shook it off. They all drifted into a dreamless slumber.

"Romano!" he called out into the empty halls, he wasn't in their room, so he checked downstairs. He finally heard some muffled sniffling from his room.

"S-stay away from me A-Antonio, I won't say anything anymore," he was scared and trying to speak in Spanish. Antonio sighed and closed his eyes for a second.

"Tomate, I'm sorry, I mistakenly thought you were—"

"One of...one of...one of them?" he asked, not wanting to face his captor.

"Yes, but Roma, I don't care if you call me a bastard, or if you hate me...because ti amo Lovino okay?" he leant forwards and kissed his forehead, and then Romano raised his head.

"Really? And I can speak in Italian?"

"Of course! I wouldn't have it any other way," he explained, smiling. "Don't worry about the others okay? It's a bit different with them, and I'm sorry, but I can never love them like you Roma, they're too rebellious, I have to lay the law down."

"Can you tell me a bed time story Spaña? I think we should sleep here."

"Anything you want Lovi, anything you want," he smiled grateful he was so calm about that. He got into the bed and hoisted Lovino up as well.

On the inside though, Romano was scared. Antonio wasn't who he thought he was.

"Once upon a time there was an ambitious warrior, he was strong...he had an empire, he was going to be remembered for all of eternity. He thought he didn't need anyone, not even his loving older brother. But then, this man found a little boy, with the cutest of eyes, the chubbiest of cheeks, and the worst of attitudes," he chuckled, "he saw how the little boy had a bad home, and how lonely he seemed to be, so the man took him. This little boy was the pride of the land, he was smart, cute, he was the ultimate package. Then one day this boy grew old, he decided he wanted to get away from the kind warrior who took him in..." he stopped, not wanting to continue.

(That was rushed, sorry)

"T-then What happened?" Romano didn't realize he was shaking. Antonio tried to calm him, and simply said,

"The warrior let him go."

Antonio knew one day he would have to let Roma go, but not yet... no. He would only really allow Romano to go. The rest....he couldn't give up without a fight.

"Buenas noches Antonio," Lovino closed his eyes and went to sleep before Antonio could comment on the Spanish and the usage of his name...
