~Jimin~
Tae and Kookie meet me at the dance studio after my practice. We had arranged to go out for supper together, and as Jungkook is the only one of us with a vehicle, they insisted on carpooling.
"How was your morning?" Taehyung asks, looking at me suspiciously. "You didn't answer any of our texts."
"Yes, we almost started sending each other inappropriate selfies on the group chat." Jungkook confirms. "Because we forgot that you were even there."
I punch his shoulder teasingly. "For your information, I was hanging out with a very important person."
"Well, it wasn't either of us," Taehyung puzzles, "so it couldn't have been THAT important, but we will forgive this oversight. Who was it?"
"You'll have to guess." I say, delighted with my secret.
"Your brother." Jungkook suggests, playing along.
"Nope."
"The president of the United States." Tae puts in, his face a mask of mock severity.
"Don't be silly." I laugh.
"Wait..." Jungkook says, giving an exaggerated gasp, "...this has something to do with Yoongi, doesn't it?"
I draw in the strings of my hoodie, hiding a bashful grin.
"IT DOES!!!!" Jungkook crows, wrestling the hood off my shoulders. "I told you Tae!!!!! You owe me five bucks."
Taehyung sighs poutingly. "It's not fair, I always lose these things. I barely have any money left, thanks to you."
"Yes, your spending habits are all my fault." Jungkook responds, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "We share all of our money anyways, so I think you'll have to find other ways to repay me."
"A few things come to mind." Taehyung responds, eyes glittering with suggestion.
I walk ahead of them, embarrassed by their forwardness.
"Waiiit Jiminie." Taehyung whines, throwing his arms around my shoulders for a piggyback. "We really want to hear your story, but let's find the car first. I'm getting hungry."
We enter into the parking lot, which sparks up the usual argument about where Jungkook left his truck. He and Tae never seem to pay attention to these things.
"Drive like the wind, Kookie." Taehyung laughs as we finally locate the black Honda. He pats his stomach affectionately. "We must never neglect the most important organ in our bodies. Speaking of which, I have decided to name my stomach in honour of Kimchi. It shall be called..." Tae pauses for effect, spreading his arms with a flourish, "kimchi."
His words elicit an uncontrollable fit of giggles. I watch as Jungkook twines his fingers into Tae's, allowing their hands to hang together in the space between their seats.
"So." Taehyung says, turning towards me with a sly look on his face. "You saw Yoongi again?"
"I did." I say, beaming. "We hung out for almost four hours."
"Just the two of you?" Jungkook asks in surprise.
"I mean, we were at a cafe," I say, "but yes, it was just the two of us"
"...This is good." Taehyung says after a moment, a boxy grin spreading across his face. "And you still don't know if he's gay or not?"
"No. We didn't talk much. I watched him working on our pictures for most of the time."
"I like how you say 'our'," Jungkook puts in smilingly. "It's cute."
"Did you like the photos, Jimin?" Tae asks, glancing at me in concern. He's been my friend for long enough to know that I hate having my picture taken.
I shrug. "They are very good photos, I just...I have a hard time seeing past how I am in them."
To be honest, it took all my strength not to ask Yoongi to photoshop the images. Watching him pay such close attention to all the little imperfections, I found myself wishing that he would change the big ones.
"Don't be like that Jimin." Jungkook says, his voice quiet. "You are a really handsome guy you know. Like, I think a lot of people think you are hot."
"We do too." Tae puts in. "It's just that we don't want each other to get jealous, so we don't say it a lot."
It's easy for me to see through these sorts of compliments, but I don't say so. "Thanks you guys, that's really sweet. But you don't need to worry, I know that I'm cute." I force a smile, feeling hollow inside.
A moment of delicate silence ensues, before Taehyung turns around in his seat, hugging the headrest playfully. "Are you going to go back? To the cafe, I mean." He asks, eyes wide with expectation.
"Should I?" I reply, grateful to be off the topic of my appearance.
"Don't you want to get to know him?" Taehyung demands in exasperation, "he doesn't seem to mind you being there, right?"
This brings me back to the thing I have been agonizing about for the entire two hours of my dance practice. "I don't...think he minds. He isn't very talkative, so it's hard to say." I shrug helplessly, wishing the photographer wasn't so hard to read.
The couple seems to consider this.
"...He should go for it." Jungkook says to Taehyung.
"You should go for it." Taehyung echoes back to me. "We haven't had any luck stalking him on social media. The guy is practically impossible to find."
"And we tried for like, two hours." Jungkook adds seriously. "Believe me, we are very committed to this ship Jiminie. I am determined to have your couple pictures on my phone within the next three months, do you hear me?"
"No pressure Jimin," Taehyung adds quickly.
I cover my face in embarrassment, but to be honest, I don't really mind the teasing. Kookie and Tae are easily the two closest friends I have, and I depend on them to guide me in my decisions, no matter how ridiculous their advice is. "I'll try not to let you down." I say, smiling from behind my fingers.
"And don't worry about it cutie." Taehyung assures me. "You are an adorable and handsome fluffball. Yoongi will have no choice but to come around soon."
"But make sure you are at the café early." Jungkook adds. "That will make you seem more mature."
"Oooh yes, that's a very good strategy." Taehyung affirms enthusiastically, giving Kookie an affectionate grin. "You're an absolute genius, darling."
Jungkook puffs up his chest, obviously pleased at the compliment. "I am pretty smart you know."
Amused with their antics, I set my alarm for seven.
