THE AMBULANCE CAME TO AN ABRUPT STOP, Havana heard the paramedics jump out and seconds later the doors swung open, revealing that they had made it to the hospital. The medics quickly worked on unloading her. While Havana held the baby, busy squeezing a tiny ambu bag over the mouth and nose if the tiniest baby she'd ever laid eyes on. Surprisingly, the baby had little trouble breathing which at her 21 weeks of gestation was a miracle, the thing that had her worried was her body temperature, she was trembling for short periods on the ride over. Havana was absolutely mesmerized by the size of her, she fit in the palm of her hands and was a deep maroon shade, her skin extremely shiny.

"Havana!" Andrea called out, snapping Havana out of her trance, "Let's go, they have a room set up for the baby."

Andrea held out her hand, carefully helping Havana step out from the ambulance. Once inside, a brunette doctor attempted to take the baby away from her but she took a step back.

"I'll examine the infant." The doctor could exactly see the baby due to the blankets engulfing her.

"I can do it."

"And you are?" The doctor questioned.

      "Dr. Havana Castillo."

She frowned, not believing Havana, "What are your qualifications?"

"Neonatal surgical fellow at Children's Hospital Los Angeles."

"You look a little young to be a surgeon."

Havana rolled her eyes, having grown custom to people doubting her abilities just because she was young, "Some might call me a genius. You can call Dr. Maria Hernandez, the department of head of pediatrics and my mentor. I'm all you got, unless you know how to care for an infant prematurely born at 21 weeks."

The doctor silently stared at her, unable to argue back, "Fine, but I will be calling her."

"Are you going to show me to a room or what?"

The doctor showed Havana the way to the room that was set up for the baby. Where she immediately got to work on the baby.

"Do you have any smaller equipment?" She asked.

The doctor shook her head, "Not really. This is a rural, isolated town. We barely have things for fully developed newborns."

Havana huffed out, "That's great. Can you arrange transportation to the nearest childrens hospital?"

She nodded, "Yeah," the doctor noticed how the baby was still breathing fairly well on her own, "It's a miracle she's breathing on her own."

Vegas had the impression that they would be heading to the hospital to meet up with Havana and Andrea, but when Valentina turned onto some dirt rode that led into the woods she began to panic.
