"Saha, come greet your uncle and aunt." My mom called out from the living room. I was having good old time by myself. Do I really have to spoil my mood on getting my ass out of this room.
"Sahana" This time she yelled at me. You know you really gotta rush when your parents call you by your full name. I had to drag myself out.
"Hey" I greeted mildly not even caring to look them in the eye.
"Hello, Saha. How are you doing? When are you going to get your call letter?" My uncle asked me curiously. Why is at that people are more interested and invested in my life than I actually am.
"Not really sure. Will get it when I get it." I replied blatantly.
"Saha!" My dad stared at me. And now what, Dad. People don't see how they behave with me, I say one word and everyone starts pointing fingers. What a fair world do I live in.
"Saha, come help me with food." My called me into the kitchen. At least she saved me from being fed to the sharks.
"Are they going to stay a while?" I asked her while chopping veggies.
"Yeah. They're staying for the lunch. I know, it's hard for you but try being nice?" She looked at me and forced a smile. If I can, I would, Mom.
Shortly, I saw my cousins walking to my home. Is today a special day or something?
"Mom! What day is today?" I asked her.
"It's uh Sunday?" She looked at me and I couldn't control my laugh.
"Nah! I wasn't expecting that answer. I meant to ask is today a special day?, Silly" I looked at my mom and looked at people in the living room.
"Nothing special. Just one of the family gatherings." She walked to the dining room with the tray of food.
"Hmm.. Gatherings, nice.. " I walked behind her.
The food was all neatly arranged on the table. I have no idea when my mom cooked all this food. Must be when I started day dreaming about my future. uh, I do that often. Albeit, It's pretty evident that life is not what you imagine to be, I like to live a little well at least, in my dreams.
"So, I have a news to share with all of you. " My cousin, Avi stood up and everyone looked at him.
"As many of you know that I'm in trails to get my Visa approved to go to USA, I would like to officially announce that I got it done. And I will be flying in next two weeks. " He smiled brightly to which everyone cheered and started to congratulate him. Me? What am I doing, you may ask. I was busy digging at my chicken piece.
"Saha, congratulate your cousin." My dad looked at me.
"Ah! Oh, yeah. Congratulations Avi. Hope you do better there. " I fake-smiled at him, trying to make my statement look like a good-luck wish instead of an insult and never come back assertion.
Everyone started helping my mom to clean the dining room and I took my cue to go to my room or my heaven, as I quote. I decided to text my alien friend. And to my surprise, there was already a message from him.
Alien Friend: Stuffed all the chocolate?
Me: Yeah. Hey, do you know how do I get to Hogwarts? So, I could leave this miserable world and be invisible for a while.
Alien Friend: Don't need to go to Hogwarts. An invisible cloak is just enough.
Me: Yeah, whatever. I wish I have that now.
