She searched around her bedside looking for her handbag and lipstick, still confused as to why she had that dream. And why she played along with it. Of course, being the naive girl she was at the time, she just shrugged it off as her mind playing tricks on her. Which in her defense did happen quite often.

But the one thing she couldn't shake was why that time, and why serpent girl? Cheryl wondered around her room, puzzled because she normally couldn't remember her dreams, but this one was as clear as anything, and so surreal. Eventually after a long ten minutes of aimlessly walking around her dark and empty room, she decided to try and forget about it. It was a very random dream which is absulotely nothing to worry about.

Cheryl felt a bit better now that she'd decided to ignore it, because normally that's what she did best. Ignoring everybody at Riverdale High was practically second nature to her by now.
Truth be told, even though she was pretty much the most popular girl in the school, she couldn't stand anybody. Not even the Vixens at times.

She opened her closet and skimmed through all of her clothes, a beautiful pattern of black and red amongst them all. Her hands glided down the soft, silky and smooth designs, before finally picking out a plain and simple red sleeved shirt, knee high boots with a jet black tight skirt which left just enough room to give her legs some space, and a rough leather jacket that Cheryl surprisingly found quite comfortable and stylish.

She swung her bag over her shoulder and took her phone out of the bag, making sure that she had checked her schedule and didn't forget her keys. Cheryl was always paranoid about leaving her homework, not because she couldn't afford a detention. She'd had plenty of those, but they were never because of late homework. Truth be told, her parents didn't give a shit where she was or how late she went out for because they never paid attention to her. And those rare moments when they do give her the slightest glance?
It's always about grades, tests, work work work and never anything about,

'oh hi Cheryl, how was my beautiful daughters day at school? Did anything interesting happen today?'

... And she absulotely hated it because she knew that her only 'friends' weren't actually there to give her support or love, just their to be known as 'the girls who had always been there for Cheryl Bombshell' but they never where. She didn't even know why she hung around with them anymore. They were just needy attention seeking bitches who thought that they could earn popularity by 'helping' the popular girl who was mourning the loss of her dead twin brother. Some friends, huh?

~time skip because I didn't want to spend another paragraph explaining what she did in her car ride to school? Nobody cares if you listened to Hamilton on repeat for the 100th time because you related so much to Angelica. We know Cheryl, we know~

Cheryl had arrived early to school that day, which was very rare for her to do. Especially if it was a Monday. Le sigh. She made her way into the halls and down the corridor to reach her locker, fidgeting with the lock as she put in the combination. When it clicked, she gathered all of the notebooks she needed for her first period (English lit) and set the rest of her belongings inside of her locker. She wouldn't be needing them anyways so what's the point in carrying them everywhere if all they do is drag you down.

She laughed as she realised that she had just said something so inspirational if it had been out of context, people would probably think of her as weird if they found out she made inspirational quotes about carrying school books around the halls. It's whatever.

Just as she was about to make her way across the lunchroom, she came to a sudden halt as a certain someone tapped her on the shoulder gently. Of course, it was Topaz.

'Hey Cheryl I'm sorry I left so quickly yesterday. I know we aren't friends but I still think I was being overly dramatic and rude so I just wanted to apologise, that's all'

'Toni please. Cut the act. Of course we're friends. Sorta. If it means anything, I'm sorry I was so bitchy when you first came into class. That was way out of order, especially when I insulted you for being from the Southside. That wasn't a cool thing to do at all and I'm sorry. But you have to know that no matter what anybody else says, you belong here. You belong at Riverdale High, and you belong with us now'

Toni smiled lightly, obviously flattered by what Cheryl had said to her. Their faces turnt a light shade of pink as they smiled at each other for only a couple of seconds, but what felt like forever.

'Thank you Cheryl. That means a lot to me. Especially coming from someone like you'

'Hey!'

'Kidding.. what I meant was no offense but you're the classic cliché of a teenage popular girl! You're pretty, you're makeup is fantastic, your hair is flawless and your body is fucking out of the charts. Don't take this the wrong way, but why would you be talking to an outcast like me?'

Cheryl blushed deeply as she processed everything the pink haired girl had just said to her. So many compliments in one sentence that were about her? It was unheard of. Most of the time people just called her hot or something pervy like that but Toni actually meant everything she said. At least, it sounded that way.

She called my body out of the fucking charts. Score 1 for Blossom and none for Topaz. Hehehe she called me pretty too. Oh my god Cheryl, stop. She's your friend, I think. It's complicated but stop thinking about the dream and everything else. That dream was for fun only, not for real life. Fantasy Blossom. Be professional. Wishing only wounds the heart.

'I don't understand ser- I mean, I don't understand Toni. What do you mean why would I be talking to an outcast like you? You're the closest friend I have. You're really chill but badass at the same time. It's awesome. And if anything, I'm the outcast. I absulotely despise being caught in this stupid facade of popularity and all that shit. It blows. I have no real friends, they're all fake and use me for attention and I'm so fucking sick of it'

Cheryl spoke softly, her voice cracking as she held back the tears that were now flooding her eyes and threatening to spill in front of everybody in the halls.

'Wow. Cheryl, I had no idea. I'm sorry for how people treat you. It sounds like hell. It goes to show that even the most confident can be the most broken. Even though we're just becoming friends, I want you to know that I'm glad you feel comfortable telling me all of this. By your reaction, I'm probably one of the first to hear the real you, is that correct?'

Cheryl wiped her tears away, ashamed to admit that Toni was in fact the only person to hear her like this. When her popular girl act starts to crack and the terrified girl underneath the mask starts to show, she normally hides it very well with a fake smile and what not. But this time, she felt like she could trust the girl for some odd reason. She just had a feeling that her secret would be safe with her and that she might even be able to support her when her times got rough.
But hey, false hope is a bitch, so there's no way in telling for sure what the girl might do with this information.

'Toni I'm pretty sure you're the only person who has seen me like this. Or at least, the only one who acts like this is ok and not just runs away and leaves me'

'Well let's just say that I'm a bit of a loner too, but I don't have any fake friends to cover that up like you do. This may be embarrasing but, do you maybe want to sit with me at lunch? I know that I had to sit with you last week because of you being my guide but maybe this time you could sit with me?'

'Oh. I mean, sure! I'm not really used to this. I doubt those bitches will notice anyway. And if they do, screw them. I don't need their desperate asses anyway'

'Now that's the kind of talk I like to hear! I can tell we're gonna get along just fine'

They laughed in unison together as they both felt a jolt of joy rush into them as they figured that maybe. Just maybe, the might've found a new friend. A true friend~
