We lay locked in each other’s arms for a long time basking in the afterglow. My leg across Josh’s thigh, his arm draped across my chest. Josh gently stroking my hair. Neither one of us needing to say anything. He hugged me tight and I felt his breathing slow after a few minutes and looked up at him, he must be asleep.
‘Sweet dreams baby’ I whispered and snuggled my head back against his chest.
‘Sweet dreams beautiful’ he replied and he kissed my head one last time before we both drifted off to sleep.
I woke the next morning to a smiling Josh staring down at me.
‘Good morning beautiful, I trust you slept well’ he said with a grin.
I smiled and lifted myself up to kiss him.
‘Oh I nearly forgot I have something for you’ He felt around on the floor beside his bed and presented me with a little white Pandora bag. ‘Did you know they make other jewellery as well as the beads? I couldn’t remember what ones you had but then I got another idea’.
He opened the bag and pulled out a black necklace with silver letter beads that spelt DRIVER. ‘Thanks for taking care of him for me’.
‘Josh you seriously didn’t have to, I loved having him’. ‘But thank you I really love it, putting Driver’s name on it makes it all the more special’.
He put it on me and kissed the side of my neck softly as his hands slowly slid down my from my shoulders to my hands and he entwined his fingers in mine.
