Should have asked you out sooner

Chapter 11

It’s been about 3 weeks since Josh came back from New York and his mother is on a flight up to L.A. tomorrow to visit.  To say I am nervous about meeting her is an understatement.  I’m sure she is just as nice as Josh tells me but how can I not be nervous.  I mean, I’m dating her son.  I’m having sex with him.  Something millions of girls around the world would love to do.  

‘Beep, beep’.  I open my phone.

(hey beautiful, I love you xxxJ) reads the message from Josh

(hey handsome, I love you too xxxH) I reply

(are you busy right now) from Josh

(no, just got home from work and about to make a coffee) I reply

(make that 2, I’ll be there in 5) Josh’s reply which immediately put a smile on my face.

In less than 2 minutes I hear his car pulling into my driveway.  As I open the door Josh pulls me into a hug and whispers into my hair ‘I missed you baby, how was work’.

‘Awe I missed you too Joshy.  Work was pretty good for a Friday’ I say as I hug him back.

‘Hey I thought we’d do something nice for dinner’. Josh says 

‘Sure, what did you have in mind’ I reply

‘Secret, I’ll pick you up at 7 make sure you dress warm’ he says with a grin. 

I watch him smirk at me over his coffee cup and wonder what he’s up to.  I guess I’ll find out at 7.

After Josh leaves I quickly shower and dry my hair deciding to leave it in a loose braid and put on some light makeup.  Ok, he said dress warm.  What should I wear, I have know idea where we’re going.  I decide on faded jeans and a light green knit sweater which hangs off one shoulder.

At 7 on the dot Josh is in my driveway.  ‘Ok where to’ I say as lean in to plant a kiss on his cheek.

‘Oh you’ll see soon enough’.  was his reply.

We pulled up at a secluded beach.  Josh turned to face me and smiled as he said ‘I thought a picnic under the stars would be nice and romantic’.

‘Oh Josh you are too beautiful.  This is so sweet’ I say getting out of the car and running around to plant a kiss on his lips.  

Josh wraps his arms around me and hugs me tightly.

He grabs a picnic basket from the car and we walk hand in hand down to the beach.

Laying back against Josh our fingers entwined was so peaceful the only sounds were the waves, the palm leaves rustling in the warm breeze and Josh’s heartbeat.

Josh planted a kiss on my temple and hugged me closer.

‘Are you ok’ I asked

‘Yeah just felt the need to hold you closer’.  ‘I’m so happy you’re my girlfriend Holly, I can’t describe how good it feels just being here with you right now’.

I sat up and turned so our faces were only inches apart.  ‘I never thought I’d meet a guy as wonderful as you’.  ‘Your so much more than any fan could ever imagine’.  ‘You are so thoughtful and, compassionate and romantic and so normal so unlike anyone I’ve ever met’.  ‘And your all mine’.  I smiled and we bought our lips together.

‘And your all mine’.  Josh whispered as our lips met for a passionate kiss.

‘Mmmmm I bought you something you’ll like’ says Josh seductively.  ‘But you’ll need to close your eyes and open your mouth’.

‘Really, Josh that is no way to ask for…’ was all I could say before he cut me off.

‘No, I’m not asking you to do that’.  ‘Unless you want to of course’..  He smiles and raises his eyebrows then says ‘Just close your eyes, trust me’.

I heard a slight rustling then Josh lightly kissed me and said ‘keep your eyes closed and open your mouth’. 

I did as I was asked and Josh placed something round inside.  ‘Mmmmmmm’ was all I could get out.

‘White lindor balls, see I remembered you telling me how much you loved them’.  he said 

‘Oh Joshy you’re the best’.  I opened another chocolate and held it between my teeth.  Josh moved in and closed his lips around mine biting the white chocolate ball in half. 

‘About that mouth of yours’ he said and grinned.  ‘I think we should go home and try some other ways to satisfy it‘.

‘Lead the way handsome’ I said which caught him off guard.

‘Seriously, he asked and I shrugged my shoulders.

And before I knew it he’d packed up everything and was on his way back to the car.

By the time I caught up with him he apologised and said ‘Sorry, I’m a bit too eager’.
