Should have asked you out sooner

Chapter 4

Josh dropped me home and I told him I’d be over to his house about 7.  Since neither of us had plans he proposed dinner at his place.  And there was no way I was going to decline.

‘Ok, sure I’ll let Josh Hutcherson cook me dinner’ I said to him.

‘I need to go home and have a shower and phone my friend to see how she’s doing then I’ll drive over’.

‘Cool, cannot wait.  And Holly can you please bring some of those cookies you made’.  Josh said this last part like a little kid.  It was so adorable. 

I leaned into him and kissed him softly before getting out of his car ‘Anything for you handsome’.

‘Ah I think the term you used today was Hottie’ he grinned as is said it.

I shook my head as I smiled and said ‘Go, I’ll be there at 7’ and waved him goodbye.

I called Belinda to check on her progress with the food poisoning incident.

‘Hey Bel how are you now’ 

‘100 per cent better’. Bel replied.

‘Glad to hear it’

‘So Hol I’ve been dying to know how lunch went.  Where did you go, what did you do. Spill tell me everything’.

I told my best friend all about our lunch date and she shrieked down the phone when I mentioned that I might have told Josh I thought he was Hot.

‘Ha ha ha that is too good.  I didn’t think you had it in you to go and be so bold.  What did he say?’.

He kind of bit his lip and got that cute smile going and said ‘You think I’m hot!’.  ‘And all I could say was Absolutely’.  He’s cooking me dinner tonight I am so nervous right now it’s not funny’ I said.

‘Why because of his cooking?  Apparently he can cook’ said Bel

‘No not his cooking just being alone with him’.  ‘Last night and today were really fun and I’m afraid I may get carried away kissing him and keep going if you know what I mean’.  ‘We’ve literally only just started seeing each other I don’t want him thinking I’m the kind of girl who is easy and will jump into bed with him because he’s famous’.

‘Holly trust me he will not think that way about you.  You’re a great girl and your really attractive and if the situation arises go with your gut.  He won’t think anything bad.  I mean your both human and you both have desires’.

‘Ok, thanks Bel I guess gut instinct it is’.  ‘Better go and shower and head on over to meet my hottie’  ‘by Bel and thanks for the advice’.

‘Anytime Hols now go and have some fun’.

After a wonderfully hot shower  I felt a little more relaxed.  Ok, what am I going to wear..

I ruffled around in my underwear drawer and found my favourite red bra and pants.  Red, I know it’s sexy colour and well, the bra and pants are pretty racy but I always feel confident when I wear them.  Now maybe some tight hipster jeans a black off the shoulder top and black and gold military jacket and boots.  Yep, I think I like it.  Time to go soon.  I quickly dry off my hair and put it up in a sleek pony tail and put on just a light foundation, mascara and a pinkish/nude gloss on my lips.

Better not forget the cookies.

On the drive to Josh’s house I have my radio blasting How We Do by Rita Ora.  As I pull up to some lights singing and dancing in my seat I notice a car full of guys next to me singing the same song.  One of them calls out ‘hey wanna good time baby’. 

‘Sorry, on my way to one now boys’ I say with a smile and feel my heart flutter with joy.

I knock on Josh’s door and smile at the sight before me.

Josh is all wet, hair dripping and only a towel hung low on his hips.

‘Holly you look, Wow’ was all he managed to say.

‘So do you’, ‘I like getting greeted by a dripping wet guy in a towel’ I manage to say although I feel my cheeks going red.

Josh closed the door and kissed me on the cheek.  ‘Sorry just got out of the shower as you can see‘.  Make yourself at home and I’ll get decent’ ‘be right back’.

‘Nothing indecent about a towel I yell as he runs to his room’.

I walked into the kitchen and found Driver laying in his bed.  He jumped up as soon as he saw me and started bouncing about like crazy.

‘Hey Driver, your so cute I think I’ll have to take you home with me’ I say as I ruffle his fur.

A voice from behind me says ‘If he goes so do I, I’m not letting him have all the fun’.

I turn to see Josh now has jeans on, bare feet and lifting a white t’shirt over his head.  Oh gosh just look at his muscles ripple as he puts it on.

‘Are you ok’ he says concerned.

‘Yeah all good’ I reply, I cannot tell him he has given me a hot flush.

‘So, what’s for dinner’ I ask.

‘Ah it’s a surprise’ he says as he walks towards me.

Josh brings both hands up to cup my face and plants a perfect kiss on my lips.  He pulls back a little unsure and I return the kiss .  

'Mmm you smell nice Josh’ 

‘Thank you ma’am, It’s all for you’. he smiles and takes his hands from my face.

He walks back over to me with a bottle of wine and two glasses.  ‘Can you pour while I get the grill on’.

‘Yeah sure’ I say and pour two glasses of wine.  I hand a glass to Josh and he takes a long sip and places it on the bench top and then with his hands on my hips lifts me up sit on the bench .

I can’t help but smile at him..  I watch as he makes burgers and a salad and every now and then he looks up at me and just grins.  I wish I knew what he was thinking.

Josh walks over to me and wraps my legs around his waist and puts his hands around  my backside and lifts me off the bench but he doesn’t put me down straight away.  His lips find mine and as he carries me to the table like this we exchange a passionate kiss.
