Naisha's POV
The sun rays crept in through the window. I slowly opened my eyes. I sat on the bed and stretched my arms. I looked around myself. Why was I in dad's room? Then it struck to my mind that I had a nightmare last night and dad had carried me to his room. I sighed and got off the bed. It was Sunday and I had practically nothing to do. I walked out of the bedroom and saw Naira preparing breakfast. As soon as she saw me, her face brightened into a smile.
'Good morning sweetheart.'
'Where's dad?'
'He has gone to the park with Aadhira. You were sleeping so -
'It doesn't matter ', I said and paved my way towards my bedroom.
I brushed my teeth, showered myself and then changed into some casuals.
I paved my way downstairs. Dad and Aadhira were home. I walked towards dad and hugged him. He picked me up and kissed my forehead.
'Morning dad.'
'Morning princess. You were sleeping so I didn't take you to the park. '
'Its okay,' I said but I was hurt inside.
He put me down and walked towards Naira and gave her a peck on the cheek.
I rolled my eyes and was about to turn that Aadhira blocked my way.
'You know what, you missed a lot of fun. I and dad enjoyed alot. I sat on the swing and he pushed me high in the sky. It was just wonderful, especially without you. A perfect father - daughter outing' , she stuck out her tongue.
'I don't care.'
'You're jealous.'
'I am not.'
'You are.'
'Whatever' , I said and walked away from her. I had no interest in wasting my time talking to her.
Naira's POV
After the breakfast, the girls went to their room and we, I mean me and Kartik went to ours. Kartik was reading some files and I was turning the pages of a magazine. I actually wasn't reading it as my mind was stuck to last night. What was wrong with Naisha? What was her nighmare about?
'What are you thinking?'
My stance was broken by Kartik's voice.
'Nothing.'
'Is it something related to last night?'
I wonder how he already knew what I was thinking about.
'Hmm. I was thinking about Naisha. What was her nightmare about?'
He sighed and came to my side of the bed. He then engulfed me into a hug.
'It was about Aarushi, her mother's death.'
I looked at him.
'Since her death, she has had many of them. It doesn't stop. Its not frequent. She has it sometimes but it hurts me. '
'How will it stop?'
'Now that you are here, there are chances of it to stop. She just needs to accept you and she will.'
I smiled and kissed his cheek.
'Aaahhh.'
'You bit*h.'
We were startled by the girls' shouts. We ran towards their bedroom to find Naisha above Aadhira. It seemed like she was pulling her hair.
'NAISHA', Kartik yelled and pulled her away from Aadhira. I picked up Aadhira and put her down on the bed.
'What's wrong with you' , Kartik questioned Naisha. She didn't say anything.
Aadhira started to cry.
'Daddy...'
She hugged Kartik and continued crying while Kartik sushed her down. I looked at Naisha to see tears forming in her eyes.
'Naisha beat me up and pulled my hair for no reason. She said the B word also.'
Kartik turned towards Naisha.
'Is that the way you behave with your sister and from where did you learn that word?', he screamed at her. He was hell angry.
'But daddy, I didn't -
Kartik interrupted her in between.
'Don't dare to lie Naisha. I don't wanna hear a word from you. You are grounded for one week for misbehaving with your sister. No phones, no games. Get away from here.'
'But daddy -
'I said get out' , he again screamed and Naisha stormed out of the room crying. I tried to follow her but was stopped by Kartik.
'No Naira. This is her punishment. Let her go through this' , he said pacifying Aadhira.
