Naisha's POV

Everyone had gone home and I was the only one sitting in the class and completing my homework. As a punishment for that incident(in which I wasn't at fault), I was supposed to be two hours more at school and complete all my homework.

I looked outside the window. The school ground looked so empty. The last student had also gone by now and teachers were leaving in a hurry. Just then, my class teacher entered and stood in front of me.

"Naisha, this much is enough for today. Your mom is here", the class teacher said.

I would better spend the whole night at school than go home with that woman...

Why couldn't dad come?!

"Naisha, are you listening?", the teacher snapped her fingers in front of me taking me out of my thoughts.

I nodded and kept my books inside my bag.

"I want you to complete the remaining work sincerely at home. Tomorrow, I'm gonna check your work first" the teacher instructed me.

"Yes teacher", I replied and paved my way towards the reception with small steps. There, I saw Naira sitting on the seat and waiting for me. As soon as she saw me, her face brightened with a smile and she rushed towards me to hug me. But I stopped her.

"I'm not a nursery kid", I said.

"Oh....sorry", Naira apologised tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear.

"So how was school?", she asked me trying to take my bag from me.

"You don't need to do this", I said stopping her. She got awkward and cleared her throat.

We walked towards the car and sat in it.

"Do you wanna go somewhere before going to home? Dominoz,KFC??", Naira asked fastening her belt.

"I wanna go home", I replied not even wasting a second for thinking anything.

"Okay....then", she said and started the engine.

There was a moment of silence between us when she began to speak again.

"I thought we could have a nice mother-daughter outing", she said driving the car out of the school gate.

My blood boiled listening to that.

"You're not my mother! Did you get that? You don't need to do anything for impressing me. You have dad, you have Aadhira, why do you want me? I'm happy on my own. I don't need anybody else", I shouted looking at her.

Naira took a deep breath and concentrated on the road. She was trying to control herself from bursting out at me.

"By the way, well done. You're successful in snatching my dad from me. He no more cares about me. He doesn't even know that I exist", I taunted her and this made Naira stop the car by the side of the road and she looked at me.

"Listen you little kid....since you don't know how to talk with elders, I suppose I must not treat you like a princess. I haven't even pampered Aadhira this much. And you're in a great misunderstanding that I snatched your dad from you. We fell for each other, did you get it? Try to grasp the fact that your mother is no more and your dad needs someone else. Why are you so difficult to deal with? Can't you be practical?", Naira bursted all her anger at me.

I looked at her with my eyes glistening with tears, full of hatred and despise for her.

Naira took a deep breath, closed her eyes and then looked at me. She looked at me with a softer expression than before. She held my face in between her palms.
