I laid down underneath the covers and shut my eyes. I wasn't tired, but I wanted to sleep. If I was sleeping I wouldn't have to think about all of this anymore. I could live in my dreams.
Just as I got comfortable the door slammed open. I didn't bother looking. It was probably just Reese again.
"Get up." a rough sounding voice boomed, "Now!"
I turned around to see that it wasn't Reese. This guy was much bigger. He looked like he was around 6"2 and was muscular. He had light brown hair that was spiked up slightly and deep blue eyes to match. His right hand was in a tight fist.
I slowly got up on the opposite side of the bed of where he stood.
"Come here." he instructed.
I did as I was told without taking my eyes of his fist.
Once I stood directly in front of him he lifted his fist and grabbed the back collar of my shirt. He roughly pushed me out the door. He came and stood behind me after he slammed the door shut. He pushed me again down the hallway.
"Walk." He said quickly.
I began walking with him inches behind me. I could feel his hot breath on the back of my neck. I shivered and kept walking.
This was a decent sized hallway with door after door on each side. They all had whiteboards with names on them. They were mainly girl names.
As we came to the end of the hallway we turned down another and came to an elevator. We went up about four floors then started walking again.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
There was no answer.
We finally stopped by a door that had my name on it.
The guy opened the door before pushing me through and slamming the door behind me.
I looked around. It all looked like a fancy hotel. There was a queen sized bed, a large tv hanging on the wall, a largish bathroom, and a jacuzzi. It was all so pretty.
I walked towards the curtains to see what type of view I had. As I opens the curtains I was surprised. There wasn't a window behind the curtains, just a wall. A plain, white wall. I guess it was for decoration.
I turned around and went to the bathroom. I stared at my reflection in the mirror. My hair was a little messy, not too bad though. My makeup surprisingly still looked like how it did when I put it in the day I was going on the bus.
That day was only yesterday. Wow. it feels like I've been gone for so much longer. I wonder if my family even know I'm gone.
I heard the door to my room slam open.
"Darling, it's time." a chipper voice came from the door.
I walked out of the bathroom, "Time for what?"
It was Reese.
"Time for you to see why your here." he smiled.
I looked at him expecting him to keep going but he didn't.
"Soo?" I said impatiently.
"Come. Sit." He walked towards my bed and sat down as he patted a spot next to him.
I just looked at him for a moment, then did as he told me to. I sat as far away as I could.
"You noticed the names on the doors, didn't you?" Reese chuckled.
I nodded.
"Well," he began, "you aren't the only one we took to work here. Your one of the special ones though."
"Special?" I question.
"Your one of the ones Alec wanted in particular. I'm not too sure why." He smiled again.
"Oh."
"C'mon, it's time to get you to work."
"What work am I doing?" I looked up at him.
"You'll see." he said as he held the door open for me.
We walked down the hallway and went down the elevator to the basement. We walked out into a hallway. We walked down it for awhile until we came to a room labelled packaging. It looked like a mini factory with pre teens as workers. They were packaging all sorts of things.
"Sir Reese?" a short petite girl said quietly.
"What?" he snapped.
"We have ran out of stamps." she said quickly before she looked down and squeezed her eyes shut as if she was scared he was going to hit her.
"Well go find more then." he growled under his breath.
She nodded before running off quickly.
"This is where you'll be working." he said without looking at me.
I looked around the room. All the kids looked scared and were working as fast as they possibly could.
"Tessa!" Reese yelled.
Then a girl about my height with a very similar haircut that was blonde ran over, "Yes Sir Reese?"
"You'll be training Cassidy." He nodded his head towards me.
The girl smiled at me, "C'mon, we better get started."
I nodded and followed her.
We walked into a little room near the back of the big room.
"This is where I work and I guess you will too," she said, "this is basically where the labels for the packages get filled out. On these papers it says exactly what to write on each one."
"Okay, but why are we doing this?" I asked.
She stopped what she was doing and looked at me like I was insane, "Cause if we don't they'll hurt us."
I looked towards the door.
I guess they are all slaves and now I'm one of them. So I'm a slave.
