Tessa handed me a black sharpie and some package labels then began writing.

"I assume they told you nothing, right?" she slightly laughed.

"Only that I have to work and someone wanted me. Alec maybe?" I said as I started to write down addresses.

"Typical." she scoffed, "They never do and the poor sucker who ends up with me is always as confused as ever. I guess your not that unfortunate. You did end up with like the best job in this place."

"I did?" I looked up at her.

"Well yeah," she started, "all we have to do is write stuff down and we get to work back here. we don't have to see the horrible stuff that happens out there or the guys often."

"Guys?" I questioned.

"Like the ones who kidnapped us." Tessa whispered.

I nodded.

"You see, we are working in the packaging area of this place. The others in this area are packaging the product and putting these labels on them. There are other parts where the kids are sorting out the bad stuff. Then there is the part where they are hiding it in teddy bears and stuff. Oh and then there's the part where they have to load it." She explained.

"And what's it?" I asked.

"Oh," she blurted, "different types of drugs."

Tessa was now looking at me. She wasn't talking quiet anymore. She was really pretty but kinda looked like the opposite of me.

We both had the same body type and were pretty short. She had the same short hair but her's was blonde and she had electric blue eyes.

"You know you must be liked by Alec to be out working here." She said as she began working again.

"I don't even know who he is though." I said as I began working again too.

"Doesn't matter." she said flatly, "I didn't know him when I first started. I was kinda like you starting all confused back here."

"How long have you been here?" I asked.

"Uhh probably around a year and a half. There have been a lot of girls come and start working and get taken away cause Alec changed his mind." she explained.

"Changed his mind about what?"

"I guess he didn't like them anymore. Sometimes for no reason. I'm always scared I'm next." she said looking at the door.

I followed her gaze. There was nothing there.

"Oh." I said without paying attention.

"Your Cassidy right?" she changed the subject.

"Yup." I smiled.

"I think your room is next to mine." She smiled back, "he always puts his favourite's rooms near each other."

"Sweet!" I said a little too excitedly.

Tessa and I talked and talked. She is really nice and hilarious. I find it weird how someone who has been a slave for a year and a half can be so happy. But then again, she did say she was a favourite. Maybe the favourites get special stuff, or maybe just not beat on. I don't really know how it works here.

How long am I going to be here?
