I slowly park my  Forty-Eight Harley Davidson on the side of the almost empty street. A broken streetlight is flashing lights above my head, the other streetlights are turned off. The street is quiet, except from the snoring of the homeless man sleeping in the alley that is a couple of feet away. At least I think it's a man.

I get off my bike and take a cigarette out of my new pack. I look across the street and cross the road, lighting my cigarette with the Zippo lighter that is in my leather biker jacket. The parking lot on the other side of the street is empty, indicating that the 24/7 dinner is also empty.  I turn around when I reach the doors and kneel down, my back leaning agains the wall. I've been stressed more than normal lately, and that says a lot.

I let myself relax now that i'm fulfilling my smoking addiction and close my eyes. Soon after I hear a car approach and I open my eyes.

A truck turn into the parking lot and parks like an asshole, parking in two parking spaces. I narrow my eyes against the harsh lights that are right in front of me and take another hit of my cigarette before dumping it on the ground, putting it out with the toes of my combat boots.

"Miss Jane?" A man approaches me and I quickly study the man. I know who he is, I hired him a couple of weeks ago. I've never seen him in person before however because we had our little talks over the phone. I think his name is Rob, but I don't know for sure since i'm horrible at remembering names.

He is small, bald and slightly overweight. He wears a raincoat over a thick sweater and I cringe. It's fucking hot, even if it's 4 AM right now and the temperature had cooled down a lot. "That's me." "Good, do you want to uhm, go inside?" Rob, or whatever his name is, asks me while looking over my shoulder, glancing at the door of the dinner.

I stare at the man for a moment, making him uncomfortable and lift my chin. I turn around and walk into the dinner, immediately wrinkling my nose because of the horrible smell. The interior is old, filthy and cheap. It smells like there is a dead animal in one of the corners, slowly rotting away. Nice.

I take a seat in the corner, facing the door and lean back. Rob sits in front of me, still looking uncomfortable, and nod at the uninterested waitress who is slowly walking towards our little table.

"How can I help you" the waitress says, taking out a little notebook that has seen better days. She isn't even looking at them, but out of the window.

She looks suicidal if you ask me but I would be too if I had to work in a space that was housing dead animals in corners. Her hair looks greasy, her makeup looks two days old and her non-existent eyebrows are filled with a rather weird looking shape, like she draw them on with a ruler. Her uniform needs a wash ASAP, filthy with god knows what.

"Coffee and blueberry pancakes" Rob orders. I look at him and give him a disgusted face. He ignores me and smiles at the waitress. She nods, writing the order down on the notebook and walks away.

"I didn't come all the way here for a dinner date. Tell me what you found and then I will go." I irritably tick my heel on the floor, looking Rob straight in the eye. I don't have time for this, I want to keep moving.

Rob nods and takes a big envelope out of his jacket.

"Right, uhm, I found something you may find interesting" Rob starts and I let out a heavy sight. "Uhm... After opening your adoption files I found out that it was a closed adoption, but I was able to connect the time of your birth and age to your birth mother. You were given away after you were around one year old and since you came from a small town, it was easy to figure out who your mother was."

I look at him, nodded and look up at the waitress who practically threw the plate with blueberry pancakes and coffee on the table. This bitch is pissing me off, and if she kept doing that I would probably smash her face on the table. I ignore the "face smashing" feeling and look back at Rob.

"Right. Uhm your mother died 5 years ago of a drug overdose but you have an older brother and a father. You mothers name wa-" "I don't give a fuck about her." Rob looks at me and gulps, a drop of sweat rolling down the side of his face. "Right.  Your father is 50 years of age, and his name is Richard Linc. Your brother is 30 years old and his name is Enzo Linc. They are both in an MC named "Hades Gates" and your brother is now the President of the club. Your father was the President before him and founder of the club. All the information about them is in this file I have here." Rob shoves the envelop my way and looks at me, waiting for some sort of reaction.

I stare outside the window, looking out over the street and take a deep breath. I should have known my family wasn't normal. A fucking biker club? Really?

I look back at Rob, the private investigator.  After a while, I reach inside of my jacket and take out an envelope that contains $300. I put it in front of him and Rob immediately takes it and starts counting, forgetting the very unappetizing blueberry pancakes that are in front of him.

Getting up from the seat, I take the other envelope with all the files and walk away.
