"Kelsey!" I heard my best friend Natasha yell.
"What?" I asked as I walked into the living room of our apartment and saw her watching The Mentalist.
"You have a telephone call." She said not bothering to turn away from the TV.
I knew I wouldn't get anything more from her so I walked over to the phone. I really didn't want to see who was on the other end, it was probably some police department or the FBI again asking if I wanted a job there. No thank you. I only wanted to work for one man and one man only. Gil Grissom, or Gilbert as I call him.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Hello Kelsey." No way.. It couldn't be..
"Gilbert?" I had to make sure I wasn't hearing things.
"Yes, As you love to call me. You do know I go by Grissom." He commented, voice amused.
"Yes I do know you go by Grissom, but I have always called you Gilbert." I told him snickering a little when he huffed in playful annoyance.
"Humph."
"What do you need Gil?" I asked still laughing.
"I need you." My eyes widened at his words.
"W-what?" I stuttered.
He laughed before saying again, "I need you. I need you to come to Vegas and help me with a Serial Killer case. Please?"
"When?" I couldn't say no to the chance to work with him again.
"As soon as you can come."
"It will take me awhile to get a place to stay and get everything in order." I told him seriously. I wanted to go as soon as I could. I always loved working with Grissom.
"You can stay with me in my townhouse until you can find a more permanent place to stay. I don't know how long it will take to catch him." He said it like it wasn't a big deal at all. It was to me. I would be able to stay and work with my mentor? How could I get so lucky?
"Okay I'll be on the next flight out."
"Great. Goodbye KT." He said playfully. He calls me that to get on my nerves but really it made me smile who else has he gave a nickname to? No one other than Catherine.
"Goodbye Gilbert." I said with a fake annoyed tone. The last thing I heard before I ended the call was his laughter.
As soon as the phone was off and I knew he couldn't hear me I squealed and started jumping up and down. "What?!" Natasha yelled as she rushed into the kitchen.
"I'm going to Vegas! To work with Grissom!" Her eyes widened and she soon started squealing and jumping up and down. She was a FBI agent she knew his name. She knew how big this was.
"When?" She asked when we stopped jumping up and down.
"The next flight out. I have to pack now!" I yelled over my shoulder as I ran into my room.
She came in a short while after that holding out a package to me. I looked at her questioningly.
"Another one?" I asked taking the box from her.
She shook her head yes and handed me the letter. I put it with all the other ones I have been getting the past 6 months I haven't got a chance to open any of them yet because I never had the time, every time I try to open one I would get called out to work or something else. I would take them all to Vegas with me and open them all there when I got settled.
"Your actually going to Vegas. Your going to be living your dream." Natasha said with a wide smile planted on her lips.
"I know." I whispered. I was actually going to do what everyone in my line of profession wanted to do. I was going to be living my dream. I was going to be working with some of the best CSI's there are. I was going to be working with my mentor the one and only Gilbert Grissom and I couldn't wait.
