Kelsey's P.O.V.

My plane had just landed in Vegas, I couldn't wait until I got to see Grissom. The man knew what he was doing, he always fascinated me as a person. He showed this tough cold exterior when he is working, a lot of people accused him of having no feelings, a nickname he had during the lectures he spoke at during my college days was Gruesome Grissom. Everyone always was confused by him, everyone but me. I knew exactly what he was like. I'm the same in a lot of ways. He is socially awkward and so am I. He prefers crime scenes, I do too. I hate politics. I follow the evidence. He also does that. I don't know why but we just clicked right off the bat. He was assigned to be my mentor in a course we had spanning over 3 weeks and I learned a lot from him. A lot of people didn't understand how I could work with him, like I said he was called Gruesome Grissom. While he mentored me I got to understand him. I got to see the Gil Grissom he hide from the rest of the world, the real Grissom, the playful Grissom.

I was brought out of my internal musing by the cab driver, "Ma'am we are at your stop."

What? We are already here? I thought it was a hour and a half ride?! I shook my head to clear my thoughts.

"Oh of course, how much do I owe you?" I asked while I dug in my purse.

"45.76"

I handed him the money he got out of the car to help me with my bags. When I turned to put one of my suitcases down I was wrapped in a hug from behind. Those weren't the arms I wanted around me.

"What are you doing?" I asked trying to keep my voice calm.

"I saw you checking me out. I know you want me. I want you too so don't be disappointed. Why don't you come home with me tonight? Or at least give me your number?" The taxi driver, whose name I think is Steve, whispered in my ear.

I tried to keep in my giggle. Checking him out? With that bald head, yellow teeth, and stinky dirty complexion? Not a chance. I was about to say something when suddenly he backed away muttering a quick apology. I looked around confused. What I saw standing in front of me made me laugh.

Grissom was standing there with what I call 'Fuck with me, I dare you' look. Arms crossed laying on his chest.

"Gilbert put that away before you hurt yourself." I told him smirking.

He immediately let a smile slip onto his face as he laughed. "Kelsey."

"Gilbert." I said mimicking his voice.

This made him smile wider. "Come here." He whispered as he opened his arms wide.

I launched myself into his fimilar embrace wrapping my arms tight around his waist as he did the same to me there wasn't a bit of space between us. I took a deep breath and was rewarded with his soft musky scent. He rested his chin on my head.

"I missed you KT." His voice strained. I knew those words were hard for him to say. He wasn't used to opening up and allowing people in.

"I missed you too Gilbert." I whispered as I pinched his backside.

"Ouch! What have I told you about that?" He asked accusingly.

"Not to do it." I smirked. I knew where this would lead.

"But you continue to do it." He commented smirking at me. Eyes playful. He knew where this would lead too.

"Mhmm."

"Pay up." He told me as he dropped one of his arms around me to hold his hand out in a give it to me gesture.

I dug around in my bag and found a dollar bill and handed it to him.

"If we do this again, I'm going to be broke." I pouted.

"You knew the consequences dear."

"I know." With that I stepped back and picked up as much luggage as I could carry, Grissom did the same, and walked straight into his townhouse. I knew where everything was. I've been here before.

I bent down to pick up my bag only to receive a smack on the butt. "Gil!" I yelled accusingly.

"Yes?" He asked as he tried tried to hold back a laugh.

"Pay up Mr. Grissom."

He laughed and bent forward and kissed my forehead, both cheeks, and my nose. "Thank you."

He shook his head still smiling at me and walked out of the room. After I was done packing I walked into the kitchen and sat down. Grissom always had dinner cooked at 1:13 a.m. Always.

As we ate dinner Grissom spoke up "You will come into the lab with me tomorrow. You already know Catherine and Warrick. The other people on my team are Nick, Sara, and Greg."

I finished chewing before I asked "Tell me about Nick, Sara, and Greg."

"Nick is the nice one, he will treat you like you treat him, very good CSI he is a bit of a flirt so try to watch out for that. Sara is stubborn, hardheaded, gets emotionally involved with the cases but a great CSI you might want To watch out for her, We had a bit of a thing back in the day and she might treat you badly because we are close and your living with me. Greg is the newest addition to the team he was our lab tech but decided he wanted to be a CSI so he got the proper training and became one. He had a crush on Sara but he might try to court you just like Nick. He will make a very good CSI though." He answered, during his speech we had finished our food.

"You and Sara huh?" I asked.

His smiled widened, "Jealous?"

"Oh yes! Gilbert how could you do that to me?"

"I'm sorry honey, I didn't know you felt that way." I laughed as he came around and knelt on the floor.

"Please forgive me! I love you!" He exclaimed as he wrapped his arms around my waist laying his head on my stomach.

"Of course! I love you too!" I whispered as I ran my fingers through his soft curls.

He chuckled as he got up and kissed my forehead. "Goodnight KT."

"Goodnight Gilbert."

With that I walked into the bedroom and showered, got changed. As soon as my head hit the pillow I was fast asleep.
