Grissom's P.O.V.

My heart beat wildly in my chest as fury shot through me, consuming me, I felt it as it tried to claw its way out of me. I worked hard not to clench my hands into fist, mindful that I still held Kelsey's delicate one. My lungs burned as I tried to suck in deep breaths. I worked to contain the beast that had awaken within me. I didn't need to lose my temper right now. We needed to focus on catching the sick bastard who was trying to take away the one thing that meant more to me than she, or anyone else, could ever imagine.

Her soft delicate voice called out to me, like music to my ears. Calling to my soul. "Gil?"

I looked down to meet her eyes as I tried to keep the emotions that were whirling inside of me hidden. "Yes?"

Her brows furrowed as her lips pulled down into a frown. "What are you thinking?"

I stared intently into her eyes, trying to say what needed to be said without words. She understood immediately, grasping my hand tight in her hand as she silently sent her understanding back to me. I cleared my throat as I looked away from Kelsey and glanced over to Catherine and Warrick. They gazed back at me waiting to be lead.

"This is top priority, no cases become before this one. Get everyone working on this right now. I don't care that we thought we had to keep it a secret. This concerns a life threatening situation with one of our own and we will not stand for that. I will not stand for that," I cast a quick glance at Kelsey to see if she had any objections. When I heard none I continued. "Catherine you round everyone up. Tell them to meet in the conference room in 15 minutes. No exceptions."

I turned to Warrick. "We need to bring the evidence from his known victims and bring them here, Try to see if there are any connections between the victims and the boxes, other than the hearts, maybe we can find something that way." I began to turn away then paused, turning back to Warrick. "See if anything connects between the victims. If you find anything, and I mean anything, you come and get me right away. Okay?"

He nodded knowing how serious I was about this. I didn't need anyone telling me anything right now. If I heard one more bad thing within the next 5 minutes I would lose the small thread of control I had. I needed to get away from everything and calm down for a minute.

I bent down so I could whisper into Kelsey's ear. "I need to go somewhere for a couple of minutes. Go with Catherine or with Warrick. If you don't feel like doing that go into my office and lock the door. I'll come get you as soon as I'm finished."

She pulled back concern written all over her beautiful face. "What's going on Gil?"

I shook my head. "Nothing. I promise everything is fine."

"You're pulling away from me aren't you? You're going to start closing yourself off." She accused, in a hushed mumble.

My eyes widened at their own accord. Is that what she really thought? That I was shutting her out? "Kelsey, Honey, No. I just need a couple of minutes to myself. I promise I'm not pulling back from you or trying to close myself off."

She looked doubtful, but with a long sigh, nodded anyway. Releasing her hand, I pressed a kiss to her temple. "I love you."

"I love you too." She whispered back.

With that said and done I stepped towards the door, turning around to face the three of them before I crossed over the threshold. "Get to work."

After that I walked quickly to the only place I knew to release my anger. As I walked towards the place I knew I could vent the fury that was slowly starting to consume me again. I was perplexed. Questions ran through my mind, Why her? How did he get into my house? How did he know she transferred to the lab? When did this all start? How long has he been doing this? How long has he been watching her?
