chapter 5

i woke up to the sound of a bunch of dings on my phone which instantly made me get up i was so eager to see the comments on our two posts.we had taken pictures of us in front of the door to our apartment holding hands,our hands together where you could see the ring and one of us kissing under the tree in the front yard they were really cute pictures and we decided to use them for the post on facebook for instagram we used the one of me and noah's hands showing the ring.we told all our close family by phone call except lee because he didn't answer in time noah was in such a hurry to tell everyone so i didn't have time to tell lee. i felt bad about it but life had to go on.

                                                                                (4 months later)

school has been going great and me and noah have finished the apartment and thanksgiving was two weeks away.i talked to june on the phone and found out that lee still hasn't come home yet but had called her saying he was fine a couple of days ago.my best friend instinct was telling me i couldn't let this go on any longer, i needed to know what was up with my bestie.after school i told noah i was going to run a couple of errands but really i was gonna call lee and demand him to come meet me tonight.i would have just told noah what i was doing but when i mentioned lee he just kept saying leave him alone hes 22 years old blah blah.i drove to a park near our apartment which i don't get lost trying to find anymore.i pulled up and walked over to the blue swing set and sat down before calling lee hoping he would answer.it shocked me when he picked up for some reason "hello" i heard over the phone.

where are you your weirding me out with this whole thing its been over 5 months now

i know i'm just relaxing why is something wrong

well i don't believe you so you need to meet me in arkas i don't care what you say how fast can you be there we need to talk

 like 9:30 but elle im fine so we can just wait till i come back

lee sounded different which really scared me.i guess it wasn't really an urgent situation but i knew something was up and i had been bothering me for a while. lee made it sound like it was no big deal but in reality it had been 5 months since any of us had seen him,me and noah got engaged and we started school a lot of things were happening and he was missing it. arkas is a town we went to a couple of times so  i knew he would know where it is and i had to wait 3 hours to leave. i went back home because noah said he went out with some friends so i was ok to go home.i couldnt stop thinking about what is going on with him.i couldnt think of why he would leave.

i pulled up to the place we agreed to meet at and waited for lee's car to pull up.after a few minutes his car did i got out and waved at him.he waved back but his face seemed fake like his emotions aren't real why was he doing that what is wrong by now i'm really scared lee has never made that kind face.

he walked up to me and hugged me i squeezed him hard i missed those hugs."lee what wrong"."elle i just needed a break whether you believe me or not"he said like it was no big deal which kinda made me mad"where have you been though".he walked closer and hugged me and i squeezed him because I needed a hug from him .as we hugged apart of me thought he was actually fine.i looked up at him and said are you going to be ok bestie. He smiled but it turned to a frown which freaked me out I let go of him "what's wrong"I said being really scared "Elle i cant do this anymore"he turned and started walking back to his car. I ran and grabbed his arm...

E- I know

L- no i think in a different way

E- lee..... What do you mean

L- Elle you know what I mean

E- lee why are you telling me this now why would you wait this long I'm engaged to your brother

L- since when

E- like four months haven't you seen on Instagram or facebook

L-oh my god it don't matter I'm gonna go back to where I was get over my feelings and come back home I gotta go

E- lee

I couldnt believe what lee said how long had he felt that way?could he really just get over it?
