Bahot ki hai koshish bhulane ki unko,
Chah kar bhi unko bhulaya na jata.
Jaha nazre pheri waha unka chehra,
Inh aankhon ko aur kuch dikhayi na deta.
Taraste hai yeh kaan sunne ko aawaz unki,
Inh kaano ko aur kuch sunayi na deta.
Badi gaur se jab sunne laga dill ki dhadkan,
Waha per bhi ho raha tha sirf charcha unhi ka.

Many a time I had tried to forget her,
Although I wish I cannot forget her.
Wherever I had turned my eyes I saw her face,
These eyes fail to see anything except her.
My ears are yearning to listen to her voice,
These ears fail to hear anything except her voice.
Carefully once I was listening to my heartbeat,
