26. SANAM

Nigaho ko apni sambhal kar uthana,

Makaam-e-adab hai sanam ka theekana.

Hum palkho ko bhi hai jhapkate adab se,

Kahi adab-o-aadaab me khata hona baithe,

Aur bawazu kabhi humari mehfil me na aana,

Yaha sirf jaari rehta hai unka fasaana.

Raise your eyesight with proper care,

Place of courtesy is my beloved's place.

Even I twinkle my eyelids with full care,

So that no sin should take place in her respect.

Never come in an impure state to my congregation,

Because it is the place where her remembrance takes place.
