Dead in my tracks, my face is in complete shock. More like I'm in complete shock. "How can it be". Abigail whispers to herself. "What, what do you mean?" Curious, I questioned her. "Luan, my grandma, passed away eight years ago." The tension in my body went away. A relaxation went through my nerves. Then let a chuckle escape the prison bars in my mouth. Clueless, Abigail looked up at me. "Is everything okay?" Her face looks like she's in shock. "You got me worried there," I reply, "The Luan I know is alive and won't kick the bucket yet". Laughter keeps flowing out of my mouth like a maniac. "Oh". Abigail says sounding sad. I shut up as soon as I heard how hurt she was.

After awhile of awkward silence, Abigail decides to speak. "Well, I better lead you to your fourth period class. Lucky enough for you, you have 5 classes with me!" She winks and moves forward. This hall she's leading me down seems endless. There's barely any windows, so it seems like a creepy alley. "Aha! There's Ms. White's room!" She opens the door that says L.A. on it. "Today class we will be finishing our writing assessment!" She exclaims happily to the class.

"Ms. White! This is our new stud-" Abigail was cut off by the teacher saying, "Moni Levery! It's so good to have you in our adventurous language arts class! I already have a seat for you!" Surprised that she knew my name I asked, "How do you know who I-" This lady must like to talk if she cuts off her students, "Well, class this is a new peer of yours. Moni! Why don't you tell a little bit about yourself?" Her smile reaches both ends of her face. "Well... I came cross country from Williams, Oregon. I was looking for a new life because I didn't really have a good life in Oregon. I'm fairly excited to begin a new chapter in my life." Being embarrassed in front of the whole class is not a first good impression. "Well, Moni. I'm so glad that your new life will be able to start in our amazing adventures! We are starting our writing assessment today so once you get settled in come up to my desk to get the papers. Your group is in the back with Abigail, Isabella, Lenny, Sandra, and Pierre."

Abigail leads me to the back to all these kids staring at me. There's one seat open by this girl on my left and guy on my right. In front of me is Abgail with a girl on her right and a guy on her left. "Hello, my name is Sandra. You're name is Moni right?" A giggle escapes my mouth. "Yeah, but you pronounced it wrong. It's not moan•e it's like Bonnie only with a m". I said to her smiling. "Oh. Sorry." "Hey! Don't feel bad I bet you everybody else thought the same!" She gives me a small smile. "Well, Moni my name is Pierre. My accent sounds different because I'm from the U.K. I'm a foreign exchange student." The boy on the left said to me. "That's so cool!" With excitement in my voice, I exclaim. "My name is Isabella but you can call me Izzy! I'm Abigail's sister. I hope we can become really good friends!" Her smile must've been bigger than the teachers if that's even possible! "Me too!" I smile back at her with a full smile. "My name s Lenny. I'm just here because I'm forced too. So whatever." "Nice meeting you too!" Full on sarcasm escapes my mouth.

"Don't worry about him. He's just not very polite." Abigail says to me nudging Lenny with her elbow. "Yeah, whatever. Now can you stop elbowing me!" Lenny exclaims at Abigail looking infuriated. "Settle down Lenny. You're scaring Moni." Sandra says in an annoyed tone. "He's not sc-" I was shut up by Pierre stepping on my foot. In my head I'm screaming in pain. Wanting to get him back he whispers in my ear, "Don't say anything to Lenny. He's not someone you want to get to know." My emotions are filled with pure shock and curiosity. What's so wrong about this guy? Why shouldn't I get to know him?

Lost in my thoughts, I didn't realise I was starring into his eyes of mystery. "Yo! Stop starring at me freak!" He snaps his fingers at me while leaning over the table. Everyone in the group looks at him angrily. Flashbacks of me being called names in Williams cross my mind. It upsets me. "Sorry. Excuse me." With that I stand up and go to Ms. White's desk. "May I go to the bathroom?" I ask her politely. "Alright! Hurry back." I leave the classroom into the dark hallway. Looking for signs, I bump into someone. "I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to." I look up to see a familiar face. Andrew?!
