I woke up in a cell, it was dark and the stone walls were cold, this place hasnt changed.
"Curse you Tanner! I need to get back to Ley! He needs help! I have to help him.
"Whoever that is can't hear you." the voice was hoarse and pained. It came from a cell out of my view.
"Who is that? I swear if somebody doesn't let me out then I won't let a single one of you go home living!" there was no response, I clenched my fists at the silence. My face grew red as I held my breath I anticipation for a response to my threat but it was the strange voice that broke the silence.
"Look lady they dont care about you." I dont want to deal with a rood jail-mate but hes the only person in this place who will react.
"Who are you?" they began to chuckle. I grit my teeth trying not to yell at him for his disrespectful laughter, doesnt he know who I am?
"Well I'm glad you stopped yelling." What the I could easily yell again. Why cant I get a strait answer from him?
"Are you going to answer me?" is all I can say without exploding. I dont hear anything for a while and it makes me want to yell at him. I take a deep breath, fighting in jail wont help Ley.
"Sorry I dont need to know your name, but can I call you something?" after a pause they responded with a light chuckle.
"You may call me Cell. Who are you?" oh right, Im here digging at him and getting made when he wont share, but why would he share anything with a complete stranger?
"I'm Rock." after a two days I grew fond of Cell.
"Hey I heard that they have caught the best thief in the land here. I bet he's been silently listening to our conversations planning an escape." I heard aw in his voice, but also the odd word that didnt fit.
"He?" Cell shuffled, as if he were suddenly awkward.
"Well no offense but I dont think he's a girl." I tried to push aside his comment focusing on the fact that I had gathered some corn ears and a small pillow case of potatoes, from what they had given me to eat, for my travels, I weaved the ears into a rope and swung it onto a lever opening my cell then I opened my new friends cage. I began to walk out when the commander walked in behind me, this will be fun, I thought as I turned with a grin.
"I know you saw this coming, I'm going to go help my friend and maybe kill Tanner. I'm sure well cross paths again my friend." he was stunned then laughed.
"I told them they couldn't hold you but there quit head strong." Cell walked up he was bewilder. By the looks of him I wondered if he could breathe.
"Whats going on?" I held my hands up to each side and crossed my legs in a boyish bow.
"The greatest thief in all the land has chosen to free you from your chains" I laughed at his surprise and swung my sack over my solder with a grin.
"But youre a mere child and a-a girl." He stuttered as I continued to walk, my path already planned. I'm going to the hospital then to my caves. Cell ran up beside me.
"You freed me from a life sentence for murder. I only served five years so far. How could you trust me?" I kept walking.
"You were the only hopeless dead hearted criminal to help me get adjusted to my thirty-fifth time in that jail." he continued to ask questions.
"I can't believe it. I've been in awe of your work for years to find you are a kid. How did you do that? Why are you even a criminal? Where are you going? Can I come? Will you teach me?" we've walked half a mile of questions.
"Why didnt the Gard stop you?" finally a good question.
"He knew he would die if he tried. You can come, you will have to learn by observation, I had been collecting materials from our lunch, and I learned to do all of this on my own. Sorry about the order." finally we reached the hospital I've already run out of half of my sack.
"What are we doing here?" I watch the people coming and going like ants and I need to get into the ant hill.
"My friend needs some stuff. I need you to run in and freak out like your dying." he looked at me like I was crazy. I want to laugh at him.
"Do you want me to go back to jail?" oh my goodness you poor baby.
"Look I dont have time for this just go." he went to the doors paused then ran in screaming. I slipped in after him and went into the familiar supply closet. I know where everything is and get what I need quickly. I come out and walk over to Cell's little display.
"OH I'm so sorry maam! How did you get out of the asylum little one? Dont worry miss I'll get him out of your hair." I walked him out and we went into an ally way.
"That was terrifying!" thats how they all react, but its still funny.
"Yes I'm sure." I began to go to the caves eager to help Ley.
"Now where are we going?" he tried to keep up with my walking pace.
"Home."
