Kenzie leaned her head back against the seat looking around the neighbourhood. An accident over a gas leak blew up a neighbourhood and it was devastating.
"Stop here Alicia." she said and her sister pulled in at the side of the road.
"Jesus." she rubbed her chest the heartache seeing mothers sitting on the street trying to keep their children warm.
"Grab the bags." she got out opening the back door grabbing one of the bags and walked over seeing a man women and two little girls
"Hi." she said softly they looked up soot on the kids' faces.
"I've some clothes here if you would like them." she held the bag out to the women who looked at her then the bag.
"Thank you so much" she covered her mouth, Kenzie put the bag on the ground and hug the women tight and the lady cried.
"It's going to be ok a few hard months but the insurance will that care of it" she sniffled
"We don't have insurance" the lady wiped her eyes, Kenzie's hard tightened
"Thanks for the clothes." she nodded slowly backing away and walked to her car just as her grandpa's car pulled up and he and her mom and aunt gabby got out opening the boot to bag bags.
"Hi." they looked at her surprise and her mom smiled softly.
"Had a feeling you'd be here."
"Alicia Annabelle and Sophie are handing stuff out." her mom hugged her before walking across the road with bags and she leaned on the car.
"Most of these houses have insurance well the people we went to do, at least they'll be put up somewhere to live until the houses are rebuilt." Sophie said as she got to her. Kenzie looked at the family she was at seeing them putting on the clothes wrapping the kids in blankets.
"They don't." her grandma frowned at who she was taking to and gasped. Two children under 3.
"Mr Malcom hi it's Kenzie Bieber." Bella turned to her daughter who was on the phone.
"Hi I need to collect that favour." she smiled.
"Got any empty houses you can rent out for a while?" she hummed.
"Yeah I'm up here now with my family, there's a young family here who don't have any insurance and I'd like to help them out.... Hmmm yeah that's long enough... Fully furnished... Mother father two little girls under 3.... If you weren't married to one of my closet friends I'd kiss you." Bella heard a scoff and turned to see Dylan leaning against Josh car making her smiled, all her family was here to help.
"Thank you so much can you meet me at the apartment in about half hour with the kids... Thank you so much." she hung up and turned around.
"Oh hey Dyl." she smiled and looked at Z.
"Uncle Z can you do me a favour?" he smiled.
"Yeah I'll drop them." she squeezed him before walking over to the family.
"I've one more thing."
"You've given us so much all ready."
"But it's not enough you are the only ones without insurance and I'd like to help. I can't re build your house for you but I can get you an apartment to live in for a year fully furnished and the prices cut down to $300 a month, we don't expect you to pay so soon so the first month from today is on me," the lady cried into her hands making her chuckle.
''Are you serious'' her husband asked his voice horsed she nodded
''These other people will be put up by insurance while their house is rebuilt, you'll have a home for a year while you figure out what happens next.'' He nodded blinking bag tears she squeezed his shoulder.
"My uncle is going to drive you to the apartment where you'll meet the landlord." both mother and father thanked her hugging her tight saying they'll pray for her and her family.
"No problem just a bit of help I hope use get back on your feet soon." when they left she smiled glad she helped a family.
"Any more bags?" she asked seeing a girl sitting on a tyre down the right of the road rubbing her arms.
"No." she crossed the road and walked down four houses.
"Where are you family honey?" she sniffled.
"Gone to try find a place to stay I've to wait here." she nodded and took her Nike trainers off holding them out the girl studied them.
"Go on put them ok." she cried a thank you and Kenzie took her winter coat off and put it over the girls shoulders and her hat gloves and scarf.
"You've to keep warm until your family get back."
"Thank you so much." she winked and crossed the road Dylan held his jacket out she thanked him and got in the car while tossing Alicia her keys.
"At least no one died that was the only good thing out of this." Lorenzo said everyone nodded.
"How are you baby doll?" he asked nodding to her growing baby, she smiled her hand smoothly rubbing her 5 month bump.
"I'm doing good back is at me but I'm good." he frowned.
"Do you want me to ring up Cindy Crawford?" he asked she shook her head.
"No its ok, Dylan massaged it last night it doesn't help it's the extra weight of two of them, one of them is more in my back so that's why it's nagging me." her mom leaned on her door frame and rubbed her daughters belly with a smile.
"Still can't believe it's twins." Kenzie chuckled.
"Me neither, when I found out at first I was pregnant I thought one baby never two."
"Two is better than one." she nodded Dylan moved Bella out of the way and kissed Kenzie she smiled rubbing his chin.
"Ok less of the PDA kids." her grandpa said, she chuckled pulling out.
"Right we'll I've to go home get shoes and a jacket and get Amy from school." she announced.
"I'm work for a few hours I'll be home about 8ish ok." she hummed kissing his cheek and her sister got in the car the beep and instead of going home they just went straight to the school getting there at 2:37 three minutes before Amy got out.
"Back in two ticks." Alicia said getting out Kenzie nodded rubbing her bump while waiting to see a blonde head of wonder running out the doors.
"Momma!" she yelled while Alicia twirled her around.
"Hey baby, did you have good day?" she nodded while she got strapped in.
"We watch tangled after recess."
"I'm well jealous, I love that movie." she giggled.
