Thick green snake bodies coiled through the towers around me. But I don't care. Mother is calling.

The glass sphere that was her cage is broken now, I can hear her so clear. I should thank the snakes for freeing Mother. Mother is pleased to be free. Soon I shall be free as well.

The purple vortex swirled in front of me. I looked into it, and I saw Mother. Mother is so pretty. She made me pretty, too, by giving me a part of her. Mother is calling, Mother will free me.

"Nano, come on!" I hear him yell. But I am meant to be free, aren't I? Why does the scientist want to leave? Doesn't he want to be free with me?

"Bloody hell, Nano! Get away from there!" I felt my eyes droop slightly. Why would I get away from Mother? Mother is calling, she will free me. "Nano!"

More snakes were arriving now. The small platform underneath me became even smaller. But Mother will protect me. Mother will set me free.

"Ugh, Nano, you need to come!" he cried again. He was such a weird one, but I should thank him. The scientist made me fall to Mother. The scientist introduced me to Mother, and I am ever grateful. She's calling now.

The hissing of giant snakes surrounds me, but it's not enough to drown out Mother. Nothing can extinguish Mother. She protects all. She will set me free. All the whispers I've heard for so long, I can finally answer them. Mother is calling me. I'm coming Mother.

I'm about to step off the platform. Mother is encouraging me. Like a bird teaching her babies to fly. Mother calls. I must answer.

Suddenly I am falling, but only for a moment. Them I feel cold metal beneath me. I look up and I see the scientist. We are in a spaceship. Where has Mother gone?

"Geez, Nano, what was wrong with you?" he asked. I didn't answer. I could only faintly hear Mother now. We were moving away.

And that's when the world went black with a jarring thud.
