A New Life or the Same?:
I woke up early, smiling to myself thinking that today was the last day I would ever have to look at this town.
I could hear my mom and dad up talking and they sounded about as happy as I felt.
However what my dad said next was like a punch to my guts.
"I heard that Blake Conwell moved there. I wonder if him and Ruby will become friends, seeing as they had attended the same school previously." dad said with a thoughtful tone, "His dad told me last night over the phone that he had taken over the pack there. He's the alpha and everyone that his father has talked to says he's tough but really a good leader."
"Yeah, I'm surprised you and his dad are still friends. I thought that Daniel had turned his back on you after you left the pack?" mother said gently.
"Well, we're still friends." I could hear dad laughing slightly, "When I told him we were moving up there he was excited and he said he was going to tell Blake and his wife."
I felt sick to my stomach thinking that Blake had been one of my biggest bullies. He had started this whole mess saying that it was my fault that the pack was falling apart.
I hoped I didn't run into him when we made it to Silverstone.
I heard mom walking down the hallway towards my bedroom and I assumed it was time for me to get up.
We wanted to get an early start so that we could beat the lunch traffic rush.
She opened my door and peaked her head in.
"Ruby, its time to go." mom said in a hushed voice.
I sat up in bed and said, "What are we going to do about all the rest of this furniture?"
"We're leaving it. The house we are moving into is already furnished, dear." she smiled at me and then motioned for me to get dressed and come on.
She left the door cracked and I could barely make out her whispering something to dad.
I sighed and rolled out of bed. I might as well prepare myself for more hell because I was heading to where the devil now resided.
An hour later we were driving into Silverstone.
I could feel my anxioty spike when we pulled into the driveway of our new house.
"Oh, Ruby, I heard that Blake Conwell lives in the house to the right of ours. Isn't that nice?" mom said brightly.
"Yeah, just lovely." I said and I actually managed to keep the darkness out of my tone.
"Maybe you and him could become friends now?" she suggested.
I kept silent on that one.
As dad stopped the car I saw Blake step out of the front door of his house and I lost my breath.
He had matured and grown even more handsome than I had last remembered him.
He was tall and had a smile plastered across his face as he looked over at our car. His hair was a dark brown, his eyes which I remembered from a long time ago were dark chocolate brown. He wore a business suit that looked really expensive, and you could tell that he had grown more muscular because the suit fit tightly.
His face from what I could see had lost all of the childish edges and was more strong looking. His features were sharper, more defined, and even more model like than when I had last seen him.
