Chapter 27: Breaking The News

Dean's POV:

I let out mournful cries once I realised my husband was gone.

"Seth! Wake up! Don't leave me!" I cried as I shook him but he didn't open his eyes.

He had a straight face. He almost looked peaceful. I left little kisses all over his face as my tears touched his skin.

"I love you so much baby. For all of eternity." I said.

"I'm very sorry for your loss Sir." One of the nurses that was holding Amber said. "Would you like to hold your baby?"

I wiped my tears and nodded. She handed Amber over to me and went over to Seth's bed where she covered his body with a white sheet, making more tears spill from my eyes.

I looked down at Amber and saw her open her gorgeous brown eyes that looked exactly like Seth's. It was like I was looking into his eyes again.

"You look just like your daddy Princess." I said to her. "I'm sorry you're never going to be able to meet him but just know, you'll never find a better father than him. He loves you so much, dead or alive."

Amber just stared at me with her big brown eyes.

"You're our miracle baby Amber. Your daddy would've given you the world just like he did with your older brother and sister." I said before my heart dropped.

The kids. How would I be able to tell them their father is dead?

"Hey Dean. Congratulations on the birth of Amber." a smiling Roman said as he walked into the room and approached me. "Aww, she's adorable."

"Yeah, she is." I said with a small smile.

"Where's Seth? He must be really happy. Why are you in here with a dead body?" He asked, looking at the bed.

"Because that dead body is Seth's." I whispered, looking down.

Roman burst out laughing. "Okay, that was funny. But seriously, where is he? I wanna congratulate him."

"Does it look like I'm joking?"
I asked with a straight face.

Roman's face fell. "If this is some kind of sick joke, stop because it's not funny anymore." He said, looking at the bed.

"I'm not joking Ro. My Seth..he's gone forever." I muttered with a tear running down my face.

Roman looked at me before turning towards the bed. He slowly walked towards it before pulling the sheet down, seeing Seth's body. He gasped and covered his mouth with his hand.

"Seth? Seth?" He said, tapping Seth's shoulder.

"He's gone Ro. He's gone." I said with a few tears running down my face.

"Oh my god. I....Dean, how?"

"There were complications with the pregnancy. They told him he could die of internal bleeding if he gave birth to this baby. He did it anyways. He did it for me." I said.

"I am so sorry Dean." Roman said before pulling me into a hug.

"I already miss him so much." I cried.

"It's okay. I know you're hurting and it'll take time but we'll get there." He said after pulling away. I noticed his eyes filled with tears.

"The worst part is, I have to break the news to the kids and his family. It's gonna be heart breaking." I said.

"You know what? It's okay. I'll help you." Roman said.

"Thanks Ro."

1 Hour Later

I took a deep breath as I entered my house with Amber in her car seat. When I walked inside with Roman, I saw Tyler and Harper with Seth's parents and his brother with his sister in law. They all looked at me and smiled.

"Is she here? I wanna see my granddaughter." Seth's dad said.

I gave them the car seat and let them see Amber.

"Where's Colby?" Seth's mom asked.

"Umm..Tyler, Harper. Can you both go upstairs? We need to talk to the grown ups." Roman said.

Harper and Tyler nodded and went upstairs.

"What's going on? Where's Colby?" Skylar asked.

1 Hour Later

It was hard explaining to Seth's family that he was no longer around. They all burst into a sea of tears when I told them. Mr and Mrs Lopez were the most upset though. Roman and I also told the kids.

They were both now cuddled up to me, crying their eyes out.

"I want Daddy back." Harper cried.

"I'm sorry Sweetie." I said, stroking her hair.

"I miss Daddy." Tyler cried.

"I know you do. I miss him too."
