You can't be falling for him. I tell myself
You've only known him for two days, you just attracted to his looks, that's all. I bite down on my lip, his arm still wrapped around my waist.
Do you even know him? My subconscious asks me.
No, I don't, and I've let him kiss me and now I'm letting him wrap his arm around me.
I sit up suddenly, finally realising the weirdness of the situation.
"Are you okay?" He asks looking up at me, his beautiful browny green eyes blink as he watches me.
"Yeah I'm fine, just tired," I sigh running my fingers through my light brown hair.
He smiles at me. "Okay, yeah it's pretty late," he says standing up. "And we are going running tomorrow," I forgot I have work tomorrow.
"Yeah, you're right it's already late, and your clothes should be ready by tomorrow," I point over to his wet clothes that are hanging off the radiator. I quickly washed them before the film started.
"Okay," he smiles again, damn that smile. "See you tomorrow."
And with that he walks into his room. I do the same, walking over to my bedroom and climbing into bed.
I lay there for a while. Trying to close my eyes, praying for sleep. But alas, it wasn't coming. I sit up slightly as I hear movements from outside my bedroom door, Ashton. He had told me he was an insomniac, but I thought since I am only a wall away he would be able sleep. I guess I am wrong, and the movement in the living room only confirmed my ponder.
I slowly walk over to the door and put my ear up against it, I can hear his muffled Aussie accent through the thin pine doors. Is he talking on the phone? It kind of surprises me since he lives on the street and is still in possession of a brand new iPhone 5s. I have one myself, I bought it with my own money, and I can tell you they aren't cheap.
Anyway, his voice begins to quiet down, I then decide to open my door.
"Is everything okay, Ash?" I ask, my voice in a hushed whisper.
"What?" His head snaps up, his voice harsh. "Were you listening to my conversation?" He asks stepping forward his eyes narrowed and his tone clipped.
"No," I say firmly, crossing my arms over my chest, what's gotten into him?
"Then what are you doing out here?" He takes another step towards me, I'm sure the person he is talking to is still on the line as I can here their voice, however, the speech is inaudible.
"What are you doing out here?" I ask, my voice equally as challenging.
"Taking a call," he gestures to the mobile which is still clutched in his fists. "What about you?" He walks closer to me, we are now only inches apart.
"I- I, I heard you walking about, and I wanted to see if you were okay, because you told me you were an insomniac and I wondered if you might need company." I ramble on.
His once hard features soften slightly.
"Oh," he says quietly, scratching the back of his head. "I'm fine." He says simply.
What's wrong with him? One moment he's shy, then he's kissing me, then he's shouting at me. I do not like the Ashton I am encountering. However, it has put my mind at ease knowing I'm not actually falling for this man, and I know nothing about him.
After a few second of awkward silence I turn the knob on my bedroom door and slip inside.
I walk slowly shuffle back to bed checking the time on my alarm clock which I never use for alarms. 1:57am, great.
